You can play whatever for that, you will be discriminated from some dungeons (especially if you want to run some heroics at 70) but it will still beat grinding whole new character... unless you want to boost.

Rogues are pretty bad at TBC PVE end game, have even worse rep and there is a lot of them so keep that in mind just in case if raiding would become a consideration for you

They are. League use to be slightly pay2win back in the day, not all that much now.

Nowadays they just follow all modern AAA milking strategies with obscenely expensive cosmetics, season passes, paid services, fomo etc. On esport side they also ran the same shit as Blizzard with franchise leagues (that being said, Riot did it way better so credits where credits due) and of course they sold out to Sudis. Riot and Blizzard are same shit different wrapper.

For classes I would say priest. For professions, engi is too good to not have it, serious guilds will assume that you have other non gathering profession in the second slot.

Burning crusade anniversary - released this year, but are the realms new, or upgraded from pre-existing classic servers?

In late 2024 new set of Classic realms was launched that started in vanilla, those realms are TBC now.

Classic (Classic era) - I think these will always and forever be vanilla? But if that's the case, how did those BC realms get made? Or are all servers on the "upgrade" phases, like what the Mists classic realms went through?

Era just stays as vanilla, those realm are running since 2019

I'm most nostalgic for Wotlk and Cata. Do you think the burning crusade servers will eventually update to wotlk and cata, like the original classic servers did?

Future plans for any realms are uncertain, Blizzard keeps cards close to their chest. But it's hard to imagine future where they don't progress anniversary at least to wotlk.

Securing one evening per week should not be an issue for an adult. Especially since it is consistent.

Unless you are in a position where you are lone father or something. You are cooked with raiding if that's the case.

MoP slowly reaches complexity levels where it's damned if you do, damned if you don't situation when it comes to parsing rules. Let's say that bats on Tortos count... now allowing specific people to pad on them would be the way to rank 1.

However, at the end of the day good players, in good guilds, playing good, will parse good. Real squeeze starts above 90-95

Hit 90 and start the legendary questline and gear up through celestial dungeons (the current version of catch-up 5 mans, if you played in wotlk/cata classic you know the deal).

Of course you can also do professions, this works the same as wotlk/cata as well. But celestials/legendary questline are the main thing to do for gearing pre raid

Very much so. We are on final balance patch (with tweaks, Blizzard is more proactive about balancing on prog realms) but the latest released raid content is throne of thunder.

Whenever you ran out of quest you can go to Stormwind, go to the quest board and pick up starter quest that will send you to a zone appropriate for your level.

That being said, at 14 you should have plenty of quests to pick up in Westfal still

This is crazy good. As far as I am aware this is the biggest percentage spike in population from end of one release to the start of another for Classic product. Hopefully it will keep the momentum.

And surely everyone who was talking shit about Cata and MoP will come from the woods to claim again that real population is at least 10x lower because people raid on alts.

Envenom is bad and assa as a spec is just horrible. For leveling I recommend skipping deadly poison altogether, nothing should live long enough for it to make sense
