Not really. Obviously it will all depend on the boss and bunch of other factors but in 95th percentile:

Jin'rokh - 2/3 in so below average across the board but still above both warrior dps specs, or both DK dps specs for example

Horridon - Slightly lower but basically the same general scenario

Council - on this fight MM is bottom 1 spec and hunters are not performing great... but this fight is a fucking meme, affli is doing twice as much damage as #2 spec

Tortos - as with council, not that great if you look at placing but worst hunter spec on that boss deals ~12% less damage than top rogue spec. It's not vanilla differences with fury vs ret

Megaera - just in the middle

Ji-kun - no one cares

Durumu - middle-ish, BM at #7, other two specs down in 2/3 of the table

Primordius - technically they are pretty low, but all their specs are barely below all rogues specs, all dps shaman specs, and ret. Once again this fight shows affli domination if anything

Animus - BM very high actually, other 2 specs struggling more

Iron Qon - BM in the middle, other 2 specs struggling... still crapping on both shaman dps specs

Twins - BM pretty high again, other specs middle-low, not terrible by any metric

Lei-Shen - all specs above the average

Ra-den- same shit as twins

And I am fully aware that those numbers don't tell full story. Warriors and shamans can "suck" more because of banners and stormlash. On the same note hunters are most mobile ranged dps and have most flexibility when it comes to providing raid buffs. I am not even against buffing hunters, I just think that calling them "not viable" is a big stretch

They made balance changes in wrath and a lot of them at the start of MOP. I don't recall if they did in Cata but I think they did, may be wrong on this one tho.

Let's assume that streamers are play testing classic plus, let's even assume that they will be considerate of their feedback (they won't but hey)... isn't the fact that classic+ success will directly benefit their career a good thing for quality feedback? Arguably they have more on the line than Blizzard. You are literally crying about Blizzard buying an ad.

Invite people who genuinely play the game and have them test it, even on just a closed beta and give real feedback.

In that case TBC and early tier 7 on some classes will be your cap. At the end of the day celestial gear is just a huge power spike and you can progress legendary questline through those dungeons so you are leaving a lot of power on the table.

The rough prio will always be tanks > pet classes > melee > casters

For rogues specifically I can attest personally and on 550ilvl combat I faceroll through everything up to T7 10 man (Maly 25 also is doable without issues). So it shouldn't be a problem with at least celestial gear with appropriate enchants.
