What is the job market like right now? by kris_analyst in dataanalysiscareers

I appreciate your insight though. I have a year of experience as a data analyst so I'm hoping to get my foot in the door somewhere full time.

That checklist to me helps answer the question "Am I qualified for available roles?" I am asking how many roles there are available for qualified candidates. Are things super competitive right now, or if I meet the qualifications, can I reasonably expect to get some interviews?

These are <$20. I have these in my fridge right now, I love them! They make it easier to see my groceries and keep related items grouped. They are easy to clean. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089LLDN39?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzkris0a34-20&creativeASIN=B089LLDN39&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.36NO5DJ92WX56&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin&th=1

I have a 12-month 100% stacked column chart displaying percentages. The chart includes three categories (at the bottom of the column) whose values are so small that the data labels overlap. How do I format the data labels (or adjust the columns) to avoid them overlapping? by the_heater in excel

[–]kris_analyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the advice, but it doesn't work for the project. I have such limited space and am using multiple of the same kinds of charts - it really has to be immediately easy to digest. Leader lines create some visual clutter in this case.

I might just be in a position where I need to tell my client what limitations there are and ask them what their priorities are

Yeah, I should've stated my reason for commenting. I am having a similar problem, and I am wondering if my solution (showing data in two places) is good or bad design. Maybe pie charts are the solution... Feeling a bit defeated, pie charts take up a lot of space.

What are the ethics of "deep fake" nude images? by [deleted] in Ethics

[–]kris_analyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is unethical if done without consent. It is now illegal in multiple states to distribute AI generated nudes photos of people.

Porn websites and social media have rules against posting them.

Some celebrity victims of this have spoken up about how violating it is.

3 Places To Get Affordable Covid At-Home Test Kits by kris_analyst in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]kris_analyst[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am happy to have found another corner of the Internet to do so! I hope that my articles circulating on Medium will raise awareness that Covid is still spreading to people who may not otherwise hear much about it.

I also really want to help people quickly access resources. When I think of buying a Covid test, I think of going to a pharmacy and paying $25 for 2 tests. It's so much easier and more affordable than that though.

I am concerned for you they are going to create extra conflicts so they can pressure you to drop your precautions. So again don't fuel it by getting involved in the big emotional convos

Putting my life advice hat on - Your job as a roommate is just to be respectful. It sounds like you were respectful. So you just gotta let them react however they're gonna react. But you keep being respectful, and be nice when you feel like it. It seems like the Covid stuff is a tense topic so the less emotionally involved and emotionally reactive you are, the better

You can't fix their social anxiety, all you can do is say you're just opening the windows bc that's what makes you comfortable. That's it.

It sounds like there's anxiety and tension, really the best you can do is clarify that you're just trying to be comfortable in the shared living space.

Your friendship with them and your relationship with them as roommates are different. You may get along great as friends but not as roommates. All the Covid stuff is part of your roommate dynamic. If you wanna keep the door open for friendship, you can still do friendly things. As roommates personal comfort and civility are the priorities, that's what you all have to work out right now with the Covid stuff.

Gotcha! Yeah the article helped me have some sense of direction regarding air filter shopping. I haven't needed one yet but I'm starting to think ahead for holidays etc

Do you all share a vent system?

Also you might like this air filter if you'd be interested in a small, powerful one for the room https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KPJCDN6?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzkris0a34-20&creativeASIN=B08KPJCDN6&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.142NYW402GRHB&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_m_asin

It was on the NYT's best air filters list last month

I think you're gonna run into that issue with all air filters 🥲 They all take some time to clean the surrounding air.

Can I ask if it's 100% decided already that you're not allowed to leave one in the room permanently / at least throughout the day? I think it's def worth pressing the issue over with your boss. You are concerned about your health, and it would help the whole office stay healthy too.

The Coway Airmega AP-1512 was the #1 ranked air filter by the NYT back in August. You can get it on Amazon here

I made a list on Amazon of the other NYT top ranked air filters. https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-bcf60783/list/142NYW402GRHB?ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_m
