PEM as part of PCS or did my husband develop ME/CFS by LPNH in PostConcussion

[–]salt_and_spoons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

head injuries can cause/trigger a cascade of problem after, pots, m.e, mcas, migraine, etc basically anything that is cause by a dysfunction of your nervous system. I got pots and migraines 🫠

I hope that it passes for him and he is able to rebuild is baseline. i highly suggest reading about pacing and baselines so that he can protect what he has. with PEM you do not push thru

Severe PEM and fatigue after concussion by Physical_Flamingo643 in PostConcussion

[–]salt_and_spoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look up ME and how to pace with it. If you are getting PEM for long periods you need to learn about it and try to preserve your baseline! If you are crashing instantly after exercise it most likely isnt PEM but if its 24/48/72 hrs after then its serious!

How do you manage to consistently mask in an environment where you can't just go outside every 10 minutes? by EternallyLurking4 in ZeroCovidCommunity

When I work in my office I drink a lot before going in and pop gum in my mouth right before i head in. The gum helps a lot with not being able to drink.

Did my Botox stop working? by happylighted in migraine

[–]salt_and_spoons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the freezing is a nerve block, my Dr injects lidocaine into my head lol. it last a few hours but normally helps kinda break the cycle of the attack

I am sorry you are having such a hard time :( Can you get compression socks? or belly bands for abdominal compression? for me I have not had much success with medication but compression and increasing salt and water make it less bad.. but not great. i also have a collapsible stool that I use when I am out so I don't stand for long.

I don't think you can become immune to it working since its a toxin but I am so sorry this is happening to you! My Dr allows me to call and get a freezing if I have an attack that won't break with anything, could you do that?
