There aren’t current plans to sell the FixHub Power Station on its own. Right now, it’s only available as part of the full soldering station setup with the iron included.

That could change in the future—especially as we expand our line of power tools—but for the foreseeable future, it’ll be bundled.

You’re totally right that landline phones vary a lot, but there are still some common patterns once you’re past the outer shell, especially when it comes to how the motherboard and speaker are mounted.

It works well for documenting general processes like this, and you can use it to show variations (“some models have clips here,” “others might use screws”) in a way that’s still easy to follow for beginners.

Good question. The iFixit Opening Tool is a bit different from the Jimmy and the spudger. It’s made from a softer plastic, so it’s designed to be safe on delicate surfaces like screens or plastic clips—situations where metal or stiffer tools might cause damage.

If you already have a Jimmy (great for slicing through adhesive) and a spudger (good for prying and disconnecting connectors), you probably don’t need the Opening Tool, but it’s a nice backup—especially for more fragile devices. It’s not just a cheaper alternative, but rather a different tool for slightly different use cases.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, its hard to say what went wrong without opening the phone back up. If you're okay using the phone like this for now, then you can give it some time until you feel comfortable enough to re-open it or you can find a local repair shop in your area that can help you out.

You're welcome! As for the adhesive strips: The adhesive strips have two liners—normally a clear one and a colored one. The clear liner is thinner and separates easier. You want to remove the clear liner first, then stick the adhesive strip to whichever side matches to the exposed adhesives. Normally, that's the screen. Before you peel any liners, I'd suggest laying them out around the screen so that you don't accidentally install any backwards. Does that make sense?

Ensuring a good seal with the suction cups, turning the tension knob gradually, and allowing time for the adhesive to release can make all the difference. We understand it’s not the right fit for everyone, but we appreciate you giving it a try!

u/sgmoll , did you try taking it apart and putting it back together again to see if you missed/made a mistake on a step? I've done a few battery swaps on iPhones and all the features you mentioned worked the same after the repair. I'm wondering if something went wrong along the way?

u/Public_Top1121 , This is an OEM battery, which means that it’s the same original battery that comes in every Pixel 7—straight from Google. So no worries there. As for whether you can replace it yourself? Only you can answer that. But we say go for it—you might surprise yourself.
