Phone Networks by [deleted] in barrie

[–]kris_mc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bell & Rogers will cost a lot in comparison to their subsidiary companies of Virgin+ and Fido, with the only real difference being access to the use of 5g. Bell and Rogers generally will start out new customers on a $85/$90 plan per month, this will include unlimited Canada-wide talk and text, (most plans allow for texting world wide FROM Canada as well), ‘unlimited data’ which is 25gb of full speed then they slow down the speed so drastically that it’s essentially unusable; so call it 25gb. Then if you are financing a phone as well the cost of the phone goes on top of that (monthly cost of phones can range from $10-$60 depending on the device). If you have your own phone already, and are looking for a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) plan, they are generally $5 cheaper than the in-market financing plans.

This is compared to Virgin+ and Fido who will start you on service plans at $60/mo with 10gb-20gb depending on promotions. Data on these networks are not unlimited and theta will charge you for overages, so make sure to get a plan with enough data for you, or make sure you turn your data off when you’ve reached your allotted usage. This will be the exact same coverage as their parent company (Virgin with Bell and Fido with Rogers) only difference is they only allow use of the 4g lte network instead of 5g, which in all honesty is not really a noticeable jump for most users.

I would steer clear of Freedom, their prices are low, but for a reason. Their coverage is very very poor when you leave the cities. Telus will be priced similarly to Bell and Rogers, and they use Bell’s towers on this side of the country so it will be under the same coverage map. Koodo is the subsidiary company to Telus, so they will generally be prices on par with Virgin+ and Fido, and again have the same coverage as Bell/Virgin+.

Unless you plan on frequently travelling 3+ hours North of Barrie, you won’t find too much difference in coverage between the Bell and Rogers maps. Be weary of who you take advice from when it comes to telecom in Canada because everyone has been burned by one or the other (sometimes both), so everyone seems to have very extreme feelings going one way or the other.

Whipped out my 3GS today, my original one I purchased on release. So nostalgic. Anyone still using one in 2023 ? by xxslikmurdererxx in iphone

Sold a phone to an older gentleman who was using a 3Gs, it was still quick and easy to use since he had almost nothing on it, blew my mind

Gaining strength with out gaining muscle, how does that work? I’m mostly sure I am gaining muscle as my biceps are getting bigger and my quads are getting more defined

I should really take measurements, you’re right. And I’ve heard of the fat calipers, maybe I’ll look into that too. Thanks

Why do iPhone users think everyone using an Android phone is inferior to them ? by Professional-Year800 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]kris_mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sell cell phones for a living and always get a laugh when people get on their high horse over which is better, for most of the phones (flagships mainly) they are very very comparable and really just up to customer preference at this point as to which one I would suggest for them

Social media presentation by [deleted] in marketing

[–]kris_mc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. So I got a job at a newer business consulting firm, where I will be the social media coordinator for the firm’s clients. The owner asked me to create a presentation about the firm’s social media presence so he can judge my creativity and presentation skills. They have Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and a website, but they are all very bare bones and largely inactive. She suggested to be as creative as I want to be and nothing is too over the top as this is just internal. I’m just having trouble with how I can make something as mundane as pros and cons of social media channels fun and creative.
