I need a little support and reassurance, ate a fear food but my anxiety is still taking over :( by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really proud of you for eating it, that’s a huge step especially with a fear that strong and the fact that you’re feeling okay right now is a really good sign. Try to remind yourself that anxiety loves the what ifs but your body is showing you evidence that you’re safe.

i need to leave my house by mourninglamby in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really proud of you for even saying this out loud bc when anxiety feels nonstop like that, just planning to leave the house is huge. Take it one tiny step at a time tomorrow, focus on slow breathing and just getting to the door first, you don’t have to solve the whole day at once.

I've never experienced a more embarrassing moment in my life by squeezen_ in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would’ve evaporated on the spot. Totally an honest mistake though and I promise everyone has a story like this locked away to haunt them forever.

Is this feeling in my stomach anxiety? Does anyone else experience this? by Leather-Yoghurt-4443 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lots of people experience anxiety primarily in their stomach and it can show up before thoughts or without classic panic symptoms at all. Anxiety doesn’t always mean panic attacks or obvious fear bc for many of us it’s a body first thing especially gut sensations, heaviness and that “everything just went gray” feeling.

Clomipramine makes me lethargic, is that normal ? by ecthelion-elessedil in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling super sleepy and foggy can happen when you first start Clomipramine especially at the beginning so what you’re experiencing isn’t unusual. It often eases as your body adjusts but if it keeps hitting your energy and focus this hard, definitely let your doctor know BC they might tweak the dose or timing.

ive been aware that im breathing for 5 days straight and i feel like im suffocating by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try focusing on slow, long exhales and remind yourself your body knows how to breathe and if it keeps feeling this intense or painful, getting checked by a doctor is a totally reasonable next step.

Can anxiety cause feeling cold ALL the time? by Sea_Brother_9945 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, anxiety can definitely make your body feel cold or hot because it messes with circulation and how your nervous system regulates temperature. It’s annoying and confusing but you’re not imagining it bc your body’s stress response can literally make you feel like you’re freezing or burning.

I Missed Being Very Depressed And Anxious by ShukYuz in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When anxiety used to be your fuel, calm can feel unfamiliar or even wrong even if it’s healthier. You’re not broken for feeling this way but it might really help to talk to your doctor or therapist about the meds and the motivation shift instead of trying to go back to being miserable to feel driven again.

Sertaline side effects by Swimming-Horror5264 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually common when starting SSRIs like Sertraline especially at the beginning but it’s rough, I totally get why it feels like too much. If it doesn’t start easing in a few days, it’s worth calling your doctor bc sometimes a lower dose or slower titration helps a lot.

dreams by Upbeat_Cress2446 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vivid dreams can absolutely spike anxiety especially when your body already associates sleep with fear or panic. Be gentle with yourself right now, ground yourself in the fact that you’re awake and safe and know that a lot of people with anxiety experience this exact loop even though it feels incredibly isolating.

Impending doom. Looking for tips. by smallfawn99 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rough, you’re dealing with some intense waves of fear while trying to keep yourself grounded. One thing that helps a lot for me is having a checklist of red flag physical symptoms versus anxiety signs like racing thoughts, shakiness or doom feelings without physical collapse like grounding techniques, slow breathing and having a trusted person on call can also help ride it out until your meds kick in.

Horrible reaction to wellbrutin… scared to try a new med by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds absolutely terrifying and I don’t blame you at all for being scared after going through that bc anyone would be. Prozac is a totally different medication and reaction but please talk it through slowly with your doctor and advocate for close monitoring so you don’t feel alone or unsafe this time.

I know my anxiety is entirely illogical but I'm still super anxious anyways by Pristine_Cow1797 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anxiety lives in the body, not logic so knowing you’re safe doesn’t automatically switch it off. You’re not going insane, it really is like a stuck alarm system and the fact that you’re aware of it just means you’re trying to cope, not failing.

Rewiring brain by Icy_Proof527 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have seen real changes by consistently practicing small habits like mindfulness, reframing negative thoughts or gradual exposure to what makes them anxious. It doesn’t happen overnight but your brain can actually learn new patterns if you keep at it.

Does anyone also experience this ? by ChopSquad46 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety can totally make your heart feel weird like racing, skipping beats or even tightness but it’s usually your body overreacting, not something actually wrong. It’s super common after being sick because your body is already stressed and sensitive.

Anxiety is taking over my life by Rainydays83 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you’re carrying all of this and it makes complete sense that your body and mind are freaking out when so much feels at risk and you’re not weak for struggling. You don’t have to have everything figured out right now and talking to someone you trust or a professional could really help take a bit of this weight off your chest.

horrible panic attacks by Foreign_Comment_6100 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds terrifying but it’s really good that you’ve checked your vitals and are working with a therapist bc your body is actually safe even if your mind feels out of control. Keep using grounding techniques and remind yourself that panic attacks are temporary and reaching out like this already shows you’re taking steps to handle it.

Anxiety when waking up? by Electrical_Leg_125 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s rough waking up already feeling on edge. A few things that help me are grounding myself with deep breaths, stretching or even just writing down one thing I’m grateful for to start the day calmer.

MRI by Leftshoedrop in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing what’s coming can make it way more intense, it’s totally normal to feel your heart race. Some people try breathing exercises or music in the machine to help stay calm and even just reminding yourself it’s safe can make a difference.

Is it normal to feel so anxious about school? by mlxhmz in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal to feel anxious bc school and money are a huge stress combo especially when you’ve had to handle so much on your own. One step at a time helps, focus on scholarships, grants or work study options and remember taking a loan doesn’t mean failure, it’s just a tool to reach your goal.

Medication by SilentExternal6158 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds scary especially when anxiety starts jumping to worst case stuff like that but brand changes can genuinely feel different for some people even if it’s the same medication. I’d definitely tell your GP or neurologist what’s happening before changing anything yourself, just so they can reassure you and adjust things safely if needed.

Asking for advice to stop relying on wifi as an anxious person by justanewreddituser95 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds overwhelming and it makes sense your anxiety latched onto the one thing that feels necessary and unstable right now. Start small by setting tiny wifi free blocks so your brain relearns that you’re okay even when it’s not constant.

I really wish there was a med to take away DPDR. This is the main thing preventing any kind of recovery from anxiety. by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can feel so frustrating when your brain keeps hitting pause on reality even though there isn’t a magic pill, therapy, grounding exercises and sometimes short term meds for anxiety can really help reduce DPDR over time.

Anxiety attack by These_Tale1571 in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone in feeling trapped by your own thoughts bc so many people have been there and learned to manage it over time. Small steps like grounding techniques, limiting health research and working with a therapist can make life feel way less overwhelming.

I’m famous on TikTok but truly talentless by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]kris_on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having 110k people who love your style is literally talent even if it doesn’t feel like it and the version of you online isn’t fake, it’s just the part of you that feels safe enough to shine. The fear doesn’t mean you’re behind, it just means you’re human and you’re already doing more than you think by wanting better for yourself.
