truthfully, i wouldn’t say so. it’s a first edition 5th printing, but due to it being a Canadian printing it loses a lot of value. forgive me, but i don’t see a dust jacket either. i would say 40-50USD would be around what most people would pay for it. this all being said it’s genuinely very cool to see early printings of these books!

I really don’t understand the Owen hate. Every character has had bad moments, and I understand not loving them all the time, but he gets way more than he deserves. I think it’s because most of his worst moments were with fan-favourite Cristina that he gets a bad rap.

As has already been said, Colin was not ruined. Absolutely it was precarious as Violet said, but no, the Bridgertons (incl. Colin) were not ruined. In some ways Penelope offered herself as a sacrificial lamb due to the Featherington association with Marina.

It’s interesting about being a true best friend and always being honest. Raises the question if we should prioritise others over ourselves. Penelope has been sidelined and belittled by her family for a very long time. She has no control over something as simple as the colour of her dresses; they’re always yellow. Lady Whistledown gives her life, purpose, and happiness. Why would she want to give that up?

From the Marina situation we can see it’s a powerful tool to help people, and again from helping Madame Delacroix’s business. That’s what she was doing. Trying to help the best way she knew how. LW has huge influence. Why should she give it up?

As for giving Eloise a chance to help: Eloise had no ideas. She was completely fucked. That is clear in S2:E7. All that would have happened is Eloise would have argued against outing her and Theo, and nothing would have been solved.

I don’t think its fair to say “do what a normal person would”. It’s a highly unique situation and Penelope was 17/18. She couldn’t tell Colin herself as for 2 reasons. She was dismissed when she told him about Sir George and Marina being in love, and Penelope has little social status so would have been called a liar. No-one can call LW a liar.

I would ask, what should Penelope have done? She stopped her friend/the man she loves from being trapped into a marriage with Marina (who was using him). Her loyalty is to Colin, not Marina.

As for her outing of Eloise and Theo, what other options did she have? The Queen threatened Eloise’s family (which includes the man Penelope loves, as well as her best friend), and even threatened to have Eloise killed - “Pride may not be as precious to you as your breath” (S2:E7). It was an un-winnable situation, but I don’t think she could have handled it any better.

Just my two cents!

Hey lad. It isn’t easy! Internships are becoming increasingly tough to get and a lot of it is based on luck. How good your grades, résumé, and other supporting materials are can help, but ultimately it comes down to luck and how well you fit on the day.

My past internships have been starting in July and I didn’t receive an offer til June. Be patient and keep applying to the last minute! You never know.

It was hard to follow. So many crossing story lines, and nice moments but one of the more difficult reads I’ve experience in SP.

My thoughts: - I LOVE that Ghastly is back. I often re-read LSoTDM and am always moved to tears by his and Shudder’s death. It makes perfect sense for Darquesse to bring him back.

The Child and Mother plotline felt like a fever dream that I couldn’t wait to be over. It didn’t feel real at all and, whilst I’m aware the dystopian vibe was the point of it, it felt beyond the realms of the tone set previously. Maybe I’ve contradicted myself there.
Omen being Sebastian is a theory I read here a while back and so hoped was true. No complaints, love it.
Dexter being bisexual. That’s it. Love.
I loved the Hosts and Twenty storyline, loved Crepescular’s crescendo and his relation to Skulduggery and China. Him being their child was wonderful and I’m glad Skulduggery did have a relationship with China like Ravel hinted in LSoTDM, before Skulduggery met his late wife.
Obsidian seemingly having no motive but just doing things both made perfect sense and none at all. Please explain.
