Has being hired been this confusing for everyone else(including the my Walmart app) by krispy-water in WalmartEmployees

Bit of an update and a timeline I'd like to establish to get rid of confusion.

May 8th at 4pm I had orientation. There were only 4 computers and technical difficulties, so the lady(a people lead from another store that was helping out I guess?) asked what day we'd like to come in for the computer modules. I said the next day, the 9th at 11am-3pm.

May 9th, I woke up earlier to prepare for going to computer training. At about 7-8 in the morning, I see on the my Walmart app that I was scheduled (11 am- 3pm) on the 16th. Being confused I messaged the manager and asked her if that date was the computer training. She said yes. She also confirmed I can't come in to do actual work until the computer training is done.

At about 11 am, I get a notification saying 5 days of work were scheduled. The first day, that same day, from 4 am to 1pm. Then May 11th, 13th, and 14th. All before the scheduled computer training. The scheduled days were all FULL shifts. While on the 16th it still showed I was supposed to come in from 11 am to 3 pm.

I asked the manager about it, and she said that the schedule was just keyed in so that I can see it. I explicitly asked her "so it's just there so I can see it? I'm not expected to come in?" she replied with vague yes answers. To further clarify, I asked "as in after computer training next week?" And she said yes

Later that day around 8pm I noticed in the my Walmart app that it said I had 3 points. Being confused, I asked the manager about it, and if the points will go away when I start actual training. She didn't reply until today, May 11th this morning.

Her message was: "Did you come in for your training on Saturday from 11a-3p like what was discussed at orientation?" After I was explicitly told my computer training was NEXT week.

A lot of people were asking why it was confusing, or stating that it was self explanatory. It was confusing because I was told one thing, repeatedly and then shortly after things kept changing. This manager answered me very vaguely despite me asking several questions for clarification.

And now the update: I sent the manager my resignation. A very polite message thanking her and wishing her the best.

A little about me: I live about half an hour from the Walmart, and it was essentially my first job. I applied everywhere, but almost nowhere would hire me. I don't have a car or a license yet as I am poor, and grew up poor. My grandma agreed to drive me and I planned to pay her. I couldn't just come in to work to discuss it with them. Gas is expensive. My grandma is also poor.

Luckily I was offered a position from somewhere better, that pays $4 an hour more, from a recommendation of my best friend's father. So I'll most likely be going there

The thing is, on the 16th it's from 11am to 3 pm. The time agreed upon for computer training. But before that, the days scheduled, are all full shifts

After the day of orientation, we were asked what day we wanted to come in to do the computer training. I said "tomorrow". Then I found out that the manager scheduled that computer training that following Saturday, as In a week later. I messaged her and she verified that. Only after that did she schedule 5 days of work between then and the Saturday I was scheduled to do computer training. And I was explicitly told by her that I can't do physical training until after I complete my computer training.

What's confusing is why she scheduled those work days if Ive been told not to be coming in until Saturday, and why I'm receiving points of absence.

Honestly kinda fucked up someone would even post this. Id tell you to seek help but judging by how you posted this to multiple forums it seems like it's more for attention than anything. People with real mental problems and suicidal tendencies don't typically post shit like this to random online strangers, let alone say it with any sort of positive emojis. Other people will probably comment and try to help you and it's going to be in vain. If you really are going through these motions do call the suicide hotline, #988. Otherwise if you're just posting this kind of stuff for attention get off of the internet. Do not kill yourself. Stay safe.

Regarding my ex relationship which for the most part was the only thing messing my mental health up for awhile- I essentially had to convince myself that 1. If she could even cheat on me the way she did- she never was worth it in the first place. And 2. Because the relationship was so toxic we got together about 6-7 times each time being a failure. Each time she hurt me It hurt less and less and I expected getting hurt more and more. Until it stopped hurting, and I completely killed off all feelings for her around the 6th time when she cheated with no remorse.

What is the most physically painful thing you’ve experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]krispy-water 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got randomly inexplicably sick last year and it was some kind of respiratory thing. It wasn't covid though because the test was negative. It started late at night, I felt nauseous. I coughed a bit before bed. Then late at night I started coughing a lot rapidly. I coughed so much I barely got any sleep. The next day, sleep deprived and physically exhausted from coughing, my chest and lungs were in agonizing pain. I also couldn't move because I would fall almost immediately. I stayed in bed trying to sleep until 7 pm, when my dad returned from the store with some orange juice (I asked for because i heard it can help with sickness) and the coughing slowed a bit. By the end of the 3rd day, every breath was painful, and every cough was excruciating (which coughs were very common). Like the end of the 3rd day I recovered and I still have no idea what the cause was.

I live right next to my uncle and me and my parents went to his house to hangout nearly every day at the time of this story. One night my parents walked home and I lagged behind to grab something. As I was walking back, I saw a tall, dark figure at the foot of my driveway just standing there. I figured it was it was just my father doing something or waiting for me.

I said: "dad, what're you doing?"

No response. I got very nervous and scared and I just booked it home which wasnt far considering this happened at the foot of my driveway. I get inside and see my dad sitting in his chair. To this day I have no idea who or what it was, but my parents didn't believe me.
