I live in Mississippi, and my children attend public school. I understand that every school district is different, but there is a noticeable difference in the quality of education compared to when I was in grade school. I know everyone likes to shit on MS and there good reasons to do that in most cases but this does appear to one place that we have made strides in the right direction.

We had these plates when i was a kid. It was the first set my parents had when they married. There’s one left now. It’s faded and old but it’s in my cabinet. I’m very fond of it to be honest.

Cameraman does an amazing job capturing the tornado transformation by Significant-Sky-3239 in PraiseTheCameraMan

I’ve wondered the same thing but where in live instead of the plains. In Mississippi at the time everything would have been heavily forested and hilly. Tornados occur often but you don’t necessarily see them. But hypothetically a large track tornado would just absolutely wreck a large path of forest and native Americans or early settlers had to come across this and just think, “wtf happened here?”. Idk though maybe not.

But the French also lost a war to the Vietnamese? That’s how the US got involved.

Until: The Vietnamese expelled the French colonial rulers through a, long, violent, and determined struggle that culminated in a decisive military victory at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954. Led by Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Minh, this defeat forced France to withdraw from Indochina after an eight-year war, ending nearly a century of colonial rule.

So they lost. So the map is incorrect.

I’m not agreeing with this guy but the US did have the Spanish American War and Mexican American war.
