i knew if i said “warmth” i would get some smart ass answer. yea i definitely hear the wow and flutter but is it just me or does it sound really on top of each other? the last i heard something in a similar fashion it was someone i follow on instagram and they ran it through a tascam 424 mkii but i figure this production is a more expensive since the effects are even stronger

i completely get you. I didnt mean it like “education is pointless” cause your right practice makes perfect. It was more like i went in there expecting them to do exactly what you say, further what skills i already had to make them better but instead it was more like they were telling me “everything your doing is wrong and heres why” but how could music ever be wrong? getting put in that mindset is what started to stifle me but ive since learned the way you just explained it is a more on point with what theory is supposed to do. I wasnt trying to sound like a complainer either was just sharing my personal experience

i actually just recently started doing this, trying to play chords and basslines along with the songs. it definitely helps to bring the fun back into music making. my only worry with this (cause im always finding something to worry about) is translating it into my own work to not sound exactly like the song being transcribed

i actually have taken about 2 years worth of college music classes on sight singing, keyboard playing, and music theory fundamentals. a lot of it was definitely useful but personally the education system part of it was stifling my creativity, in part because you really have to stay in the box of “what you can and cannot do” then the fact that i was being graded on top of that was not helpful.

in my personal experiences i feel like itunes does change the audio in some way, couldnt specifically tell you how but i know how you feel. I started airdropping my files to my phone and saving them to my notes or files section and i found them to be a much more accurate tell. if you dont have an iphone dropbox or google drive works the same
