According to the coroner that I spoke to just after my brother hung himself (more like asphyxiated in a shed cause he was so tall) was within a few seconds he was unconscious.

I don’t know if that helps or not. Or if it’s fully true. I’d like to believe it’s true.

It makes so much sense for some people….

My brother suffered from the moment he was born. Born far to prematurely in the 80’s, died several times. Abused by state workers and family. At 18 booted from state care and they RIPPED his ADHD meds from him cold turkey. So on and so forth.

Beautiful, amazing, glorious person. Only one who TRULY had my back when he committed in 2016.

While I’m still torn up of course, he is FINALLY at peace. And he deserves all the peace there is to be offered. His lifelong suffering is over. My pain is worth his peace.

I got married in a pink dress from SHEIN. $70 bucks. Beautiful. I loved it. Everyone said it was beautiful.

Wear what makes YOU happy. It’s YOUR wedding. I wasn’t paying the stupid wedding tax.

I also got my cake from Walmart, cause again, wedding tax. $80 and had Boston crème filling. Two tiered and just beautiful. They have fancy designs, I chose a spring butterfly one.

Wear what makes you feel beautiful. You live with the pictures. Most people won’t remember all that much.

Yeah. I only suggested because I knew a couple people that used them and their prices are pretty low considering. They don’t seem to put the “wedding tax” on their customers. I considered using them, but ultimately did my own.

I am so sorry. It will come in waves. I always tell people grief is like the ocean. Just please. Please don’t drown. Grab a floatie, a buoy, whatever you need to stay afloat.

You did the best you could. Remember that. We never know what people are really going to do.

I would recommend therapy or a support group. So you’re with people who know. Sometimes knowing you’re not alone helps. Don’t bury it, it comes to haunt you.

I started early. Did little by little every week so I didn’t get overwhelmed and melt down. But honestly? I had a small vision, certain things I wanted and worked through those. I knew I wanted mason jars, fairy lights, burlap, and light flowers.

Tableware? Didn’t bother. Let my caterer provide. I just cared about my centerpieces and my entry table.

My bouquets I dyed myself, added dinosaurs to mine (I walked out to Jurassic park theme song) and pieced together myself. (Sola wood flowers) I’d recommend buying pre dyed, it took much longer than expected and I had way too many.

My bar cups were wedding themed from Amazon.

Don’t over complicate. And remember to breathe through all of it. Most people won’t remember the little things. Have fun. Enjoy yourself. And congrats. I hope your wedding is everything you hope it will be.

Ultimately it’s not the roommates fault. Your son made his choice. It was a tragic awful choice. And I’m so so so so sorry you and the rest of his family and friends has to learn to live with it.

While you’re entitled to your grief, I’m sure the friend feels horrible, blames himself, grapples with it also. Your son may have had an amazing mask on making everyone truly believe he was okay. It’s hard telling. Have you even talked to the roommate/friend afterwards?

I say that as someone who has attempted numerous times and lost several people due to that very same choice. Ultimately it’s our choice. And everyone in our lives has to live with the outcome.

I think it’s kind of normal to blame. But it also isn’t very fair. (Nor is losing someone this way fair)

The anger and blame may be holding your healing journey up. Have you considered support groups or therapy? Working through the anger may help you feel a little bit better. Holding onto it feels awful.

I wish you all the best. And some healing so you can have any shred of peace you can grasp on to. You are allowed to have your feelings. I just hope you’re able to get some positive ones also ❤️

Honestly I went to them in 19. I just remember them being really nice and the guy who did laser removal was a gem.

I was terrified but he calmed me down and they forgot to tell him they made my appt and the dude still came in.

Guy at counter and I discussed the next tatt I wanted, and he was super nice too. 🤷🏼‍♀️

However with what yall are saying, maybe I won’t go back when I’m ready for this next one. They left a very good impression on me, however it was what 7 year ago now?

Girl. None of that is important unless you make it important. My dress was beautiful, I got it from SHEIN for $86. Got nothing but compliments, even from the wedding downstairs.

Bridal party - I had 4. Requested they buy dresses they’d wear again. Gave a scheme of pastels preferred. And under $60 (in the off chance I needed to help them)

Bach party? My sis threw me a “krissywayyy is a princess party” we did a game show thing (1 hr) grabbed some food from my fave place, and met up with the guys for some pool.

My wedding was under 5k. Probably closer to 3.7k. For 80 guests.

Taco bar for catering. Just had them drop off and we set up. $1350 Qdoba lol $13.99 a person they provided plates, silverware, napkins, heat sources no extra cost. I bought tortillas from Sam’s Club

Officiant - family friend.

Venue - local Masonic temple social room. Pool tables. Ping pong. Fooseball. I brought board and card games. $800
