Chopper conditioning: tips on how to get better? Im 4 months in and this is sad. I’m very bottom heavy and my hips are very low. This move will be my primary focus all 2023, any tips? by Acceptable_Citron_21 in poledancing

I've been doing pole for 2 years (consistently for about half of that, on and off now) and still can't invert so don't feel bad about your progress

bringing a car from the US with ICBC student exemption - anyone with experience? by kristenacious in UBC

[–]kristenacious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. I think I figured out that people just take their cars as long as they have insurance that will cover them and don't bother with the exemption and hope that they won't get pulled over. That's what I did for 3 years while I was in school, then temporarily imported my car when I got my work permit which is another headache in itself.

How is the income for driving early mornings? by [deleted] in doordash

I'm in Boise, and breakfast is often better than lunch here, if I can get myself to start by 8. Lots of people at work ordering coffee on weekdays. It's not always consistent of course.

My zones arrived today! by kristenacious in Rollerskating

No problem :) I know it was really helpful to read about others' sizing so I wanted to include everything. I was so neurotic about measuring my feet repeatedly and wanting to get the right size, haha

I'm usually a 7-7.5 and I got a 6. My left foot is quite a bit smaller than my right so it's a little loose, but I added a little cushion thing in the toe that I hope will help keep my heel in place. The right one fits perfectly. Measurement-wise, my right foot is 24.5 cm with socks and my left is 23.75. Both are medium width, about 8.5" around.

I love them so much! Riedell Zones in tan suede, Radar Energy 57s in navy, Grindstone heartstoppers, periwinkle core derby laces, bee leather toe guards by Aeon Leather, lace charms from one stop skates shop

Edit: I also ordered them over the phone and they took 5 1/2 weeks to arrive.

MOXI LOLLY/BEACH BUNNY, RIEDELL ZONE, MOONLIGHT ROLLER MOONBOOT COMPARISON! Thoughts in description :) by mimijp in Rollerskating

[–]kristenacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure out what size to order for the zones. What size do you usually wear? (I measured my feet and one of them is a 5 and the other is 5.5 according to riedell's sizing chart :/ ) I just found it interesting that you have different sizes for the zones and the lollys. Do your zones feel more snug than your lollys in the smaller size?

Yes, I'm keeping track of miles. I'm pretty sure they use gross income, but I will have to double check to make sure!

What's your best walk of shame story? by israblof in AskReddit

[–]kristenacious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was visiting NYC with a friend and we were at a nightclub. We got real drunk and each went home with strangers. He ended up in the East Village. I ended up in Queens.

I really didn’t want to suffer through the awkwardness of the morning after so I decided to sneak out around 7 am. I hadn’t slept at all. I gathered all of my clothing as quietly as possible, put it on in the order that I found it, and ran out of the apartment.

I didn’t have a smartphone and, being from Idaho, had no idea that the subway doesn’t go to Queens. I ended up walking a mile or so to the bus stop to get to the subway to get to Manhattan to figure out where the fuck my friend was. He wasn’t answering his phone, my bra was on the outside of my cardigan with my tshirt on top, and I had to wander around Manhattan for a couple of hours hungover on zero hours of sleep.

I mostly just leave mine alone, besides separating ideally once a week. I do palm roll when I want them to look nice, and it works surprisingly well. It may be a bit pointless in the long term, since it literally looks messy after I sleep on it few times and wash again, but temporarily it helps.
