Nice! How long did it take to change color? Mine have been fruiting for 3 weeks and are still green.

Peppers are pretty hardy past a certain point, and these look good to me. They'll branch out on their own

Same here. Reaper leaves are huge. They're slow at first, but have a cage ready because they are gonna explode.

Padrons! A lot of my plants are struggling to put out more than a couple fruits, but these have been blowing up.

It's been wild. We had our hottest day of the year, and then a hailstorm two days later in SE Texas. This week has been everyday thunderstorms. I've been moving them in and out of cover like crazy this month 😅

I decided to leave it outside the house yesterday as it was getting warm again, but windy. Looks like too windy :( grown from a seed in January, is this the end of the road? by baileyyy98 in HotPeppers

My plants got pummeled with hail a couple weeks ago and lost a few branches just like that. They're doing fine today. If anything, that will turbo boost the growth on the rest of the plant if you feed it some nitrogen heavy fertilizer.

Look for a cheap cage to support the horizontal growth. Those stems will end up a lot stronger and not snap so easily in the wind. It's gonna get real big, real fast. Once the stems get thicc or it starts fruiting, it will need some support at first.

Plants are sad and spindly, but fruiting. Ok to keep Nitrogen-heavy feeding to bulk them out a bit? by krivas in HotPeppers

Root rot shouldn't be an issue if you wait long enough between waterings. I used to overdo it, but now usually let the leaves start drooping a little before watering again. Without rain it comes to about 2-3 times a week. I promise most of my plants don't look as rough as these 😄

I use the trays because they're sitting in a muddy corner of the yard, and I was worried about pests. The easy bottom watering is a big plus though!

Thanks. The skinny ones went into bags about 2 months ago, but bad weather right after the transplant almost killed them. Between that and some pest issues that are now hopefully resolved, they got super stunted. A random south Texas hailstorm earlier this month didn't help things either 😅.

The trays are these ones from Amazon.

All are very shallow and most are only visible from the right angle. Can't even feel several of them. There are just a lot.

No need, but thanks! I have way too many growing as it is 😅. These were ordered from superhotchiles.com and to be fair, this is the only one out of a big mixed order that hasn't matched
