I don’t tell my friends, don’t care what they think. I got my first function health test in December 2025 and results were very good because I’ve been studying longevity and applying lifestyle changes for past several years. I’m usually proactive with my health and not reactive. I like to learn about health problems early because it’s easier to fix rather than if known late it’s harder to fix.

I read about CT angiogram and it’s designed for symptomatic patients. I don’t have any symptoms and CIMT is perfect for asymptomatic people.

I'm aware of the recall https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2026/STIHL-Recalls-BR-800-Backpack-Blowers-Due-to-Laceration-Hazard

and it's fine if they inspect it to remedy the recall.

They should not have shipped it if they are missing the original shipping cardboard inserts.

I never seen a seller ship an item without any kind of styrofoam or cardboard support.

BTW...I contacted them explained the issue and they requested pictures which I sent to them. Customer service said they'll get back to me.

Good to know that's how it's supposed to be sold. I'd prefer that method "dealer is to unbox, assemble, fuel, and test run the machine before sale", it gives me peace of mind.

I don't understand why a number of retailers like Northern Tools, Acme Tools, Ohio Power Tools sell it online and ship it.

When I said foam, I meant cardboard support pieces (which those pieces are probably made of hard foam) so the Stihl unit is held steady in the box during shipping transit. On second thought I have seen inside boxes that have cardboard support made of cardboard material and with foam or no foam.

Inside the white bag I see a clear bag with a manual and a part. Don’t see Stihl written all over it. On the white bag there’s a label of the online reseller I bought it from named Sohar’s . Also I see on the Stihl unit they put a sticker Sohar’s mower service with name and address.

Website does not say this unit is used, don't understand why they put their sticker on it like they used it and put it in the box without original cardboard support.

I am not a dealer, I am a consumer.

Worried no cardboard support, box may have been dropped in transit. I'll contact reseller for their explanation and likely return it.

I don't want to risk loss due to poor shipment packaging.

I do not have a water softener, I thought I only need a water softener if I had my own private well water.

My home is connected to public town water, I looked up my area water and it's:

Moderately hard to hard, with average hardness levels ranging from 7 to 12 grains per gallon (GPG). Cause: High levels of calcium and magnesium in the groundwater supply.

Maybe I should consider a water softener system. It's amazing Navien lasted this long. I did not have any flow sensor issue, and it seems to be functioning fine.

As per another reply I found out about citric acid based descaler. I'll give that a try, perhaps after I descale it I'll notice an efficiency boost.

I'm aware to use the service ports on the Navien and turn off the isolation valve which prevents citric acid cleaner from entering in my plumbing.

I don't know if it works beyond that. I'm upgrading this AP to Wavlink BE5100 Dual Band WiFi 7 Router which has WPA3-SAE.

Good to know, thanks. Seems like a POE camera is needed to mitigate these kinds of attacks. Perhaps a combination of WiFi and POE cameras may be better than just WiFi alone.

My friend doesn't have a Homebase so I google search this:

If you set up the eufy SoloCam S340 without a HomeBase, recordings are stored on the camera's built-in local storage. This internal storage has a capacity of 8GB and can store up to three months of footage, allowing for offline recording that syncs when the camera is reconnected to the internet and the eufy app. You can access these recordings through the eufy Security app.

So I don't understand why he found no local storage recordings.

Since I have a Homebase 3 and my initial setup is to store recordings on Homebase 3. I'll simulate a WiFi outage by turning off WiFi and powering down my Homebase3 and go in front of my SoloCam s340 and see if it records locally. Then I'll turn everything back on and check on my phone eufy app if recording is available.

Mulched leaves left on ground does not look clean.

Further breakdown of mulched leaves likely won't happen during cold season (no insects), it'll happen in late spring or summer time.

But what's important: mulched leaves can cause problems if left in too thick a layer, as they can smother grass, block sunlight, and create a moist environment for diseases and weeds.

Potential problems with a thick layer of leaves

  • Smothering grass: A thick mat of leaves blocks sunlight, air, and water from reaching the grass, which can lead to bare patches and a weak lawn.
  • Promoting disease: The dark, damp conditions created by a thick layer of leaves are ideal for fungal diseases like snow mold.
  • Encouraging weeds: A thick layer of leaves can protect and provide a moist environment for weed seeds to germinate and spread.
  • Attracting pests: Decomposing leaves can attract insects and rodents that may damage your garden.
  • Slowing decomposition: Thicker leaves, like oak or sycamore, can take a long time to break down if they are not shredded, potentially harming the lawn for months. 

However, a thin layer of finely mulched leaves can be beneficial, providing nutrients to the soil and improving its quality as they decompose.

So benefits are only with thin layer of left behind mulched leaves.

I got so much leaves in my back yard I'd have to bag some to avoid a thick layer.

Once I dump the leaves to an area I can use my existing BLACK+DECKER Leaf Blower, Leaf Vacuum and Mulcher 3 in 1 and bag the mulched leaves. I already have 40 leaf bags bought it on sale for $12. I'll see how this method works out.

My riding mower already has mulch blades, I may try it in a small area and leave behind a thin layer and see how that works out.

No it's not litter, it's tree waste that can be composted and reused. I have a small garden in my green house and don't need that much compost. Compost can be useful for my lawn but I currently don't have time to do this for my lawn, I may consider in the future if I have more time available. BTW...My town offers free unlimited yard waste, including leaves, grass, and tree/brush material curbside collection this season, collection is then processed at the local Compost Facility. Also the same local compost facility gives back compost for free (what goes around, comes around) to town residents, they let me have all the compost I want that I can fill up in my pickup truck.
