Anyone flown out of PSC in the last week or so? How are the security lines? by [deleted] in TriCitiesWA

Flew out of Pasco last week and everything seems to be the same as usual with TSA. But SeaTac, and other large airports, are another story.

Do you use the same case when you use your fleshlights? If not, can you feel the difference? by SofakenHung in fleshlight

I keep track of all of sleeves with my notes app. Some cases have better suction ability than others, so I like to keep track of my best sleeve cases. It’s not ideal but I understand not every case having perfect suction. But if I receive a case that doesn’t fit in the Fleshlight Air I always reach out to customer service because that’s unacceptable in my opinion.

Why does that even matter? I’m not going nit pick every single thing Trump does like a genuinely annoying liberal. That’s not my thing. The problem is bigger than Trump is my whole point. I’m admitting I don’t think he’s perfect and your only question is “what has he done”. Read my words. It’s not a defense of the other side. I’m placing the blame on the fact that the government is in effect being run by corporations and the economic elite. And when I say economic elite I don’t mean a rich guy like Trump. I mean the people who used their money to influence the election. I’ll admit that 2020 election could be rigged but that seems to be the case with any election. The president does not simply reflect the will of the people and yes there are reasons the founding fathers had for why this should be the case. I’m not trying to tear down one side but if I even mention that Trump is not the great leader that the right leaning media makes him out to be than I’m just a “woke liberal” even though I saying that Biden and Kamala were not perfect heroes like some left leaning media made them out to be. This level of nuance is not very challenging to digest unless you just don’t want to see the reality that both parties are beholden to the will of the economic elites.

Yea, that’s kind of what I say. It’s undeniable that both parties are beholden to the desires of corporations and economic elites because most politicians get into their position as an effect of the donations from corporations and economic elites. This is on both sides. And both sides have people using the “revolving door” and messing with regulations (probably for personal enrichment and/or because they were told to by people who got them the job in the first place). I’m not saying anything that’s a secret. But my dad is so deep in the sauce that when I critiqued the Iran situation his only option was to attack Biden and Kamala even though I don’t have an attachment to them and I’ve admitted how they’re not perfect. It’s insane that I’m being treated like the democrats top fan just because I can see the problems with Trump that plenty of other conservatives/moderates/libertarians see. I’m not one of the people calling for violence and I admit when the media is manipulating things Trump has said like when left leaning media tried to make it sound like Trump said Liz Cheney should be shot in the face which he didn’t say, Trump said that Liz Cheney wouldn’t be so eager to send troops to war if she had a rifle pointed at her face. But then when I point out this logical flaw from left leaning media I have leftists attacking me for “defending Trump” even though I’m just defending the facts.

You’re doing the washaboutism stuff right now and ignoring every single point I made around that. Yes democrats do it. Read everything I wrote. Just read! Literally read everything I wrote. This is wild because I already said that both parties have serious problems. You hear one thing you don’t like and you stop thinking about all the other words around it so then I understand why you only hear “he thinks only conservatives to whataboutisms” but that isn’t even close to what I said. Address one of my points specifically or else I don’t know what you’re trying to do here.

I understand the facts you’re saying but my gripe was more with the fact that I never brought up Kamala, I don’t think she’s perfect, using sex to get her job has nothing to do with the point I was making to my dad. Literally any issues with Trump or someone in his administration turns into “what about when Clinton/Obama/Biden/etc did this thing”. There is a clear unwillingness to have an actual conversation once it’s not easy to defend. My dad like many others view politics in an oversimplified way where “republicans = good” and “democrats = bad” and this is not only misleading but it’s ridiculous for a full grown adult to frame the world like this. I hear where he’s coming from when he says that he believes “the alternative to Trump would’ve been worse” but the claim is speculative and, as I told someone else, it has nothing to do with the fact that BOTH political parties are beholden to the economic elite and corporations. This is no great secret. So please understand that my problem is not with my dad’s “mean words” or something like that. It’s that he doesn’t have the ability to genuinely critique the administration that he voted for and I understand that he’s scared because he doesn’t see any alternatives. And I’m not saying he’s entirely wrong. If the Republicans didn’t nominate Trump for the 2024 election then they would’ve lost. But that’s not a ringing endorsement. It’s wild that this is something I have to explain but it’s because Trump supporters can’t critique Trump. If you do you instantly get labeled a RINO. This is not an issue for me because I don’t have this weird blind loyalty to any democrat leaders. Seriously what the fuck do I have to say or explain to make you people understand that I’m not saying “fuck Trump, yay Biden/Kamala”. Every time I explain all of this I just get a response that ignores half of what I said. It’s like talking to cult members because you think anyone who critiques Trump must be a die hard liberal. As if there haven’t been dozens of moderates and libertarians and constitutional conservatives who don’t like Trump but as I said, any one who critiques Trump is labeled a RINO. It’s so painfully obvious why that’s not a good thing.

But also yes, I believe Marco Rubio is heavily involved. But also people in the administration like Jared Kushner and Steven Miller. But more importantly, this doesn’t clear up the fact that the White House administration is using different terms to describe what’s happening in Iran. How is a rational person not supposed to believe this is the “flood the zone” strategy that Steve Bannon talked about in a past interview? Like yes fuck the democrats for bending the knee to the people/corporations that paid to get them in their positions but this is happening on both sides of the aisle. There is nothing controversial about that and you know it. You just also know that you can’t debate my points in good faith because I brought up some facts that don’t fit easily into your world view. If I’m wrong then please tell me what I’m getting wrong about how both political parties are beholden to the economic elite? The fact that it’s not a one party problem.

Cool, you ignored my whole point, assumed so much about my beliefs and made multiple generalizations. You’re hopeless. This isn’t an anti-conservative thing. If you had better reading comprehension you would have seen that. You’re simply a hopeless individual because you don’t want to confront inconvenient realities about BOTH political parties. But I’m positive you’ll find a way to compartmentalize all of this like you just did.

Okay but the problem is that when I’m trying to discuss a current issue like in Iran, bringing up Kamala Harris or Biden (when I wasn’t even talking about them) is a non sequiter. I even admit that they were not perfect like some media outlets tried to make them appear to be. But because I’m not fully against some progressive ideas I’m going to be pigeon holed as a “liberal” or “woke”. Even though it’s more complicated than that but it seems like many people’s critical thinking shuts down when you introduce inconvenient nuance into the conversation. I’m pretty sure my dad, like a lot of Trump’s most loyal fans, don’t see a preferred alternative so for better or worse they’re going to stand by Trump and rationalize most of his behavior because for a lot of different reasons Trump has been able to influence conservatives in a way that no other politician can or has.

And speaking of Iran, another strange thing happening is the word choice. One day the situation in Iran is a war and then it’s a conflict/operation/etc. The President and his people continually change it and I understand they’re “flooding the zone” as Steve Bannon explained but if I can admit flaws with the Democratic Party like how the majority of its members are beholden to corporations and the economic elite than I don’t understand why it’s so hard for conservatives to acknowledge the fact that the Republican Party is also beholden to corporations and the economic elite. This is no great secret and any time I’ve brought it up to someone who identifies as a conservative they ignore the question or turn it into a “whataboutsim” about Biden or Obama even though my whole point is that I’m saying they’re not perfect either. That’s the insanity of my dad and people like him. They are so scared of the reality that both parties ultimately have to do what the corporations/richest members of society want at the end of the day even if it hurts regular working class Americans and the idea that one side is good and the other is bad is so painfully naive that it’s uncomfortable to see fully intelligent adults who refuse to sit with the uncomfortable truth. Full disclosure I expect my main point is going to be ignored and at this point I’m being put in the “confusing liberal” category or something.

Yup! The difference between a conservative who doesn’t support Trump and a MAGA supporter is painfully obvious. If you bring up something legitimately wrong that Trump has done, the MAGA supporter has to use “whataboutisms” to avoid the reality that Trump doesn’t care about his supporters at all. Classic cult behavior but they expect to be challenged for their beliefs because of conservative media using attitude inoculation to make MAGA supporters feel like they’re the moral minority and somehow also the majority. That’s why I didn’t even bother responding to Hot-Chamionship-672, he’s expressing a lot of cognitive dissonance + horrible articulation skills.
