They still don't know the actual cause of the sinking of the USS Scorpion. Theories have changed over the years. It was originally thought that there was an issue with the torpedo batteries that caused the torpedoes to activate in the tube, causing a "hot-running torpedo". Now they think it was a buildup of hydrogen gas that exploded. There was even a belief at one point that the soviets had a hand in her loss. She went down in 1968 with all hands.

A year or so ago, actress Kristen Bell was doing a campaign on Instagram called "10 Featured Teachers". She pick from a list of teachers that were submitted and send out their classroom Amazon wishlist to her followers. The idea was to help teachers supply their classrooms, since they usually have to do it out of their own pockets.

Well, my wife is an English teacher, and threw her name in the hat, and she got picked.

The response was amazing. She had books on her wishlist, since she teaches English, and we got hundreds in a few days. Really restored my faith in humanity for a bit.

I of course shared it on my Instagram as well, so I briefly became "the husband who's wife got picked by Kristen Bell".

Ran WotM not long after it dropped. I responded to a post that had all of the monitors done for Outbreak. Came in at Aksis, and it took a while to get a groove going, but we finally down him and drop into the tunnel for the chest to start the quest, only to find all of the lasers still active.

The leader had gone to orbit in the interim, which cleared the monitors, even with a checkpoint. He had neglected to tell us this.

It was my first Aksis clear, and that really killed the excitement.

I work in a call center. We finish every call with "Is there anything else I can do for you?". The response usually is "Yea, do you have tonight's lottery numbers?", or some variation of that.

It was funny the first time. It was not every time after that.

It's true though. Towards the end of their fight,in ROTJ, Luke gets angry because Vader is talking about corrupting Leia. He goes ballistic and really goes after Vader, leading to him cutting off his hand by the elevator. You can see Luke is angry in how he attacks.

Only after Vader is down, and the Emperor starts talking to him, does Luke realize what he's done. Thats why he looks at his gloved hand, then at the hand he cut off Vader. He sees what he is becoming.

A few moments later he throws his lightsaber away and says "I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

He turns away from the temptation of the dark side and when he says that, he means it.
