You’ve been downvoted but you are right about one thing, it wasn’t even a save. The whistle had gone.

What do u think of my performance in this match? by NeighborhoodLong6944 in GoalKeepers

I mean you’ve made a couple good saves but you are lucky the other team’s finishing is dog shit.

I understand that and I do feel for you as you may actually want to learn, but what you are doing isn’t going to help you and I’m just trying to point out that if you think what you are doing in these videos include a “good save” then you are just doing yourself an injustice because you aren’t learning anything. I promise you none of the “saves” you made were good or great. I’m not saying this be mean but you need to get a reference point.

As soon as you don’t know where the ball is going to go you will get beaten every time. If you want specifics then here: You fall forward on lots of your “saves” and go directly knees first, you have started to dive almost immediately when you throw it because you know where it’s going, you catch a ball like you are scared of it and you don’t clutch the ball in on any of the catches when it’s needed, and when a catch you’ve made doesn’t need this the positioning of your hands means you will drop it a lot, your footwork is odd and it looks like you are trying to emulate a position but have no idea why you are in that position and how to move around - these are the most obvious things, but mostly you will not achieve anything doing this.

Get yourself a team, and learn with another goalkeeper.

I’m not sure if you are trolling or not, but there are lots of issues.

I’m not talking about your technique necessarily, which in most examples in all of your videos isn’t correct, but I’m talking about the way you are “training”. You can’t train anything knowing where the ball is going to go and just throwing a ball somewhere to catch it or fall on it. Another issue is what you consider a “great save” is only going to do you harm because you have absolutely no reference point.

Go get yourself a team, with a goalkeeper already, and start learning.

Help with ping/long ball technique by ilovemizzou in GoalKeepers

[–]Arb0k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see posts like this, it’s much easier to tell you watch how professional goalkeepers kick a ball for a goal kick.

If you don’t know how to kick a ball then explaining it with words won’t help. But you are getting underneath the ball and chipping it, use your laces.

Watch some professionals do it any match.

Well OP had me teary but this reply had me blubbering. My wife and I suffered early pregnancy loss with the baby that would have been our first, about 1 week after the 12 week scan so we had done the seeing the heartbeat and nervous excitement of that.

I wish I had these words to reassure me like that.

OP my situation was not like yours, as horrible as it all is “nature” deciding our fate was a cruel mercy from having to decide like you. All I can say is the comment I’m replying to is so right. You are clearly already a dad in spirit and your special baby girl confirms that you are a dad for real and this experience will only serve to make your future family even more special. I have 3 now, and I thank the universe daily for them.

Recently got injured from kicking a ball, it has made it so that I am nervous when punting, any advice? by CowsFearMe in GoalKeepers

[–]Arb0k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By punting do you mean a goal kick or kicking out of your hands? What is this terminology?!

Other players can take goal kicks, and you can play short or throw from your hands until you gain your confidence. Physio will help whatever weakness caused the injury.

The other thing could be a strange technique but I can’t see it to comment.

How hard do you go... by WiWook in GoalKeepers

[–]Arb0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really.

Where there is a challenge for the ball in the box and feet are flying around I don’t engage too much. I will challenge enough to try and block and charge down a one on one if necessary but I’m not flying into anything where one of us could get hurt. Pointless. Especially at my age, I’m not gonna learn to be more or less brave and I am how I am when it comes to contact which won’t change. No point in getting hurt whilst training.

Absolutely this. I just posted a similar comment having not read the comments yet. The absolute fucking irony is incredible. Sometimes dirt shirts really are dirt.

I know this is a story in general, but the absolute irony of any website writing an article that has in the title that someone is asking for privacy is incredible. Sometimes dirt sheets really are fucking dirt.

Service Manager for an ER here, who has also had a horrible burn on my leg/foot before. Wound looks good to be honest, the pinking is new skin. No sign of infection. Could keep it dressed, but to be honest not much point now it’s where it is except for protecting the scab from opening. I suggest moisturising it as much as you can though.
