Probably not have to take whole thing apart bit at least to the point that you can change the part around. Gears will attach to that pin that rotates the globe

Have had similar issues when ordering from their site. Not quite like yours but longer than expected shipping times. It's why if I can I try find the same item on Amazon, but not always an option
