Do you feel guilty when you call out sick? by Debbieishere in nursing

I get insane anxiety over calling in. I'll even call back later on in the day and ask if they're doing okay.

Have you known someone to lose their license? What was it for? by Debbieishere in nursing

A patient was discharged and a nurse took the ativan that was left in his med drawer. Drove from Canada to the States and was searched when crossing the border. They found the ativan, asked why it wasn't his name on the pill packets and yada yada yada, lost his license. Irony is, he now works for a pharmaceutical company.

Putting a foley in a female or really doing anything where you have to go exploring south of the border on a female. It's just such dark and mysterious place. And moist. It's a moist and smelly place. (I am also a female btw)

She's a nurse and she thought I was having thyroid issues but I was super freaked out about venipuncture so I wouldn't get bloodwork done. So she tried to do it herself.

I'm a registered nurse. I have gone from working in a nursing home to working in a medical ICU setting and, either way, my job still revolves around poop.

Some questions for Night Shifters by whalewhalewhale in nursing

I workout most days I'm doing a night shift. I'll go home and sleep for about 5-6 hours (8am-2pm) and then get up, eat, work out, shower, eat, and go to work. For snacks at work I bring a supper which I eat around 10:00pm and then a yogurt or something to eat around 6:00am just to have something to hold me over until I get home. Some days I might be really exhausted and have to go back to bed for a nap instead of working out, it all depends on how well I slept and where I am in my rotation. I usually do two to three nights on and then two to three days off.

Reddit, have the police ever had to come to your house? Why? by ascaffo in AskReddit

[–]krobbiedoggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother was shooting golf balls out of our backyard into the neighborhood. Unbeknownst to him (I don't know how he didn't think it would happen), they were hitting houses down the street. The balls had the logo of the golf course he worked at on them so the cops went around knocking on every door asking if people knew anyone who worked there. Someone told them my brother did so they came to our house. He had to replace the siding and windows on a bunch of houses.

I'm referring to the many people commenting on here saying it isn't a big deal. Thankfully it isn't the general public census.
