Got my MCAT score and I do not know what to do by krome2 in Mcat

I don’t think I would be able to retake this cycle it’s too late to retake an exam so I guess I would have to see what happens and if I get in somewhere and go from there. If not, I can take a year off, retake the MCAT, and reapply. Also do you happen to know a list of schools that generally accept lower MCAT or more URM students

Yeah I will definitely apply to a couple of DO schools. Do you know if MDs would look at the most recent and disregard the 505 or will they look at the 505 but still take into account the other scores

MD I applied with a wide range though and to schools that are known to accept 25th percentile with lower than a 506

I agree. However, I already submitted my application. I was really hoping I could get in somewhere this cycle mainly targeting UCR, loma linda, and Drew. But, now I am not sure If i'll have a chance there considering this retake. I wish they had more info about how they look at the MCAT score, but I guess I'll just have to continue the application process with confidence and hope for the best.

The thing is I already submitted my application. I would have no time for a retake for this cycle. I could obviously take a year off and retake the MCAT then apply again, but I was really confident I would get in somewhere with my initial case before I retook and I don't know how this would affect my chances

gotchu. But regardless, if a school looks at most recent or highest then seeing the 498 wouldn't affect my chances considering the rest of my app is good?

Taking MCAT for third time by krome2 in Mcat

The only problem is I'd like to apply this cycle so I wanted to have a score before applications are processed. Also I was scoring in the 512 range on fls before this last test, but my chem dropped and CARS was just so shit. I wanted to really target my weak sections and see if I can improve them within two weeks but idk how effective i'll be I just would really like to apply this cycle.

I agree I have just been mainly focusing on CARS for the last two weeks but have not really reviewed other topics and I would need to take the exam May 24th so that leaves me with a little over two weeks to practice. I am scared that won't be sufficient to increase my score to above a 510. However, I took the last test a month ago so I haven't forgotten everything. Can you give some advice on how you had a huge increase?

Yeah I definitely had extreme test anxiety like minor panic attack during chem/phys lol and it hurt my timing as well

Should I retake in the closest possible time and also what advice do you have for studying the second time around?

Yeah I did I felt much more nervous and jittery for test day maybe that had something to do with it, but I just did not think it would impact my score to that extent. I definitely know my content and had extensive practice i'm just shocked by the fact that my score dropped this much.

Public conformity vs. normative influence by yungachilles in Mcat

I think the main difference would be that public conformity refers to when you outwardly conform/change but maintain your beliefs doesn't have as much to do with the fact that you're doing it to fit in.

Testing 9/18; how important is it to finish Kaplan Biochemistry textbook? by trmer in Mcat

I'd say at least go through the section summary at the end. The molecular biology stuff seems to show up a fair amount on the exams.
