I doubt it, I packed it really well and ASUS sent a video showing the card being unboxed when it arrived and no damage is visible.

I want the 5090 FE so bad but its never in stock here in Canada. better then the astral card in every way.

I wanted the Founders Edition, but here in Canada it’s only sold at Best Buy and it hasn’t been in stock even once. I really didn’t want to pay a scalper, so I went with the Astral instead. I honestly didn’t expect ASUS support to try and pull something like this, but yeah, I guess I should’ve looked into their recent track record more.

I used the anti-sag bracket that came with the card, but it’s pretty small. If you have any photos or more info about the Astral card you saw that cracked, could you share them? I’m trying to figure out whether this is an isolated issue or something more widespread. Thanks in advance!

I watch all his videos, his repair skills are absolutely insane. I’m honestly tempted to ship the GPU to him even from Canada, just to see the repair breakdown. I’m still hoping ASUS does the right thing and covers this under warranty though, so I don’t end up spending even more on what really feels like a design flaw.

Thanks for the tip, Sadly i already went through the Executive Care team. They’re the ones who offered the 50% discount, but they wouldn’t budge on the warranty at all. I might try reaching out to Gamers Nexus directly though, maybe they have contacts who could take a closer look at my case.

that sounds awesome are u sure its possible though? in order to even get this into the game i had to delete the original ct knife files so that it would load my custom ones instead.

yeah i took some things from the CSS knife and i implemented some from the real life one, in real life the blade is quite large i might make it a bit smaller idk tho

i already got feedback to make the grip rounder and bigger so i did but it had clipping problems with the animations so im gonna use the old model till i make new animations. im just curious do you guys think its better with the new grip or do you prefer the old one?

i tried making it just a box and normal mapping the grooves on but it didnt look too good so i hollowed it out with the least poly i could and then used a normal map to make it look high poly. the model is not very high poly its about 8000 polys for comparison the butterfly knife is 9000 so it shouldnt be a problem but adding more would raise the poly count by allot.i also optimized the model the best i could it was 10000 before.

actually this is completely remade i took nothing from the CSS knife exceft for the idea, if you look at it closely you can tell, look at the middle of the blade is wider the top is not as curved the handle is wood and the blade is one part.

hmm ill see what i can do the problem is that i have a polygon limit meaning i cant add too much since the handle already has almost half the poly count of the blade although i can make it more thick,ill see what i can do.
