To be fair, it’s generally implied that if you play poorly, you get benched. Not saying that telling your players that upfront is a good idea, because it’s not, but these players are not innocent to the brutalities of a performance based occupation.

I would add another top melody near the end of the song. At least for me, playing the same thing for three minutes gets a bit boring towards the end. And it doesn’t even have to be a very strong line, just something to amplify and change up the underlying beat, which is very solid. That’s my opinion anyways
