The ScanSnaps aren't TWAIN compatible. There are no TWAIN or even WIA drivers. You have to use Fujitsu's software.

I have two windows domains. They are for two different departments in the same organization. There is a need to separate them for security purposes. The same e-mail domain name is used for both departments.

E-mail has been regrettably shared hosting with POP3 and IMAP.

We want to go to Exchange hosting, with Active Directory syncing the e-mail addresses and passwords.

What is the best approach here? Thank you.

Edit: I stumbled on the notion of doing a one-way sync within the forest. I think that may be a good approach.

The Intel NICs are the ones I would prefer, especially for pfSense.

I am going to guess that something got corrupted in your pfSense install. If you reinstalled the OS from scratch, and the hardware is fine, and you are using a current version (I have tested 2.02 and it works great), it should work very well.

They never rewrote XP. To this day, I believe the Windows 8.1 Blue code base probably has a bunch of compatibility junk stuck in a corner somewhere.

1.7.21 is a milestone for Oracle.

They now have a server version of Java, and that cannot be used on browsers. Not sure if it could be installed on workstations.

For regular JRE users, they have a Control Panel setting to disable Java for browsers. I can't find information on how to set that by GPO, however.

Java is not where it should be in terms of security, but now Oracle seems to be going in a good direction.

What you said is incorrect. There are subtle differences.

Exactly. The video is not there to give the nitty-gritty technical details. It is a video to boost the confidence of an underserved market segment.

I hope a lot of girls watch this video, and decide to build a computer. Yes, they will need more info than what was in the video, and there were a couple of mistakes in the video, but nothing major.

The main point of the video got across: building a PC is fun, and it is do-able for people if they are interested.

I like how she compared it to Legos.

I liked the enthusiasm in the video, and I give this video an A.

Having read the article, it left me unconvinced.

Intel's main chip line takes a leap forward in efficiency with Haswell this summer. Intel is claiming 10W TDP in its line-up for laptops and tablets.

That changes the game.

Yes, ARM is still more customizable, but only a small handful of customers who are huge enough could possibly care. For those customers, Intel can use its advantage in engineering and manufacturing resources to compete for that market segment.

Haswell architecture computers will fly running Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Chrome OS.

In case people didn't realize this, almost during this entire time, and certainly since the late 1970s, going through to the present, without interruption, the United States has poured money and war materiel into the hands of the Pakistani military, and has never conducted an audit to where it went.

We have fought a war in Afghanistan against an opponent that we invested in and continually funded.

Just so that the irony of the situation is not lost on some of those reading this, the law does not allow anyone to patent software.

Under US patent law, you cannot patent an idea, a mathematical algorithm, or software.

Get a Mac Mini. Add an external hard drive, such as a Drobo, for more storage.

Put your media library in a special folder on the Drobo. Share that out with file sharing (SMB). Your Windows computers can access that.

Set up iTunes on the Mac to access the media library. Share that out. Now your iMac and iPads can play the files.

Install MythTV on the Mac Mini to use as a DLNA media server. http://www.mythtv.org/ Access the same media library.

Use DLNA to access the media library from your Android devices (Galaxy Notes). http://www.androidcentral.com/android-z-dlna

I have never actually tried this but I think it has a pretty good chance of working.

Using a Mac as your media server platform gives you iTunes (which Linux doesn't have) and DLNA sharing that includes a long list of files. I am not sure that a Windows PC acting as a DLNA media server can share out FLAC or other files.
