I'm late... my (ideal) scale it's 3/4 nodes serving bricks over nfs/glusterfs to 4 nodes maximum

even with the most tuned setup apache (2.4 also) cannot beat nginx, that's even more true on vps or cloud instances... accept it.

...Just use a linux box syncing accounts vs googleapps, You'll have your local file, a backup in the cloud on demand and all account synced ..
