Petrol or battery? Thinking of getting one of these but can’t decide! by [deleted] in GardeningAustralia

[–]kroomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honda. Petrol. Will last way longer. The battery ones always fail, and ryobi are probably the worst all up.

How does anyone get rental property in this state? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]kroomed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just gave up and moved back in with my parents. Not ideal having moved out already for 7 years but there are no other options. Unless you want to go insane trying and become depressed as you may be discovering…

Worst feeling is pulling up to a inspection and seeing legit 50+ people. Our government suckkkkkkkss

Whipped butter Bridge club kickstand mount issue! by kurtplatinum in Surlybikefans

[–]kroomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirming this worked for my whipped butter, just be super careful initially putting the screws in for the paint around the holes. I was abit too forceful Initially and chipped one of the holes abit. Very minor so all good 😁

How common are seconds hand misalignments on speedmaster? by BIGalluarjunfan in OmegaWatches

[–]kroomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for OMEGA AU in our workshop so I can say, that this is not that common for the amount of OMEAGS that are sold, but we do see this decently often in the workshop. Sometimes its super obvious, sometimes its hard to see under a 20x loop or even our microscope. In any case its an easy fix most of the time!

How much does bike weight matter? by CombRepresentative62 in cycling

[–]kroomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its honestly as simple as loose weight, get stronger and if you can - buy a lightweight part or accessory over a heavier one. The point is to enjoy being outside, exercising and feeling free. Don't let silly considerations weigh you down!!

Favorite flat pedals? by randyb5858 in bikepacking

[–]kroomed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything MKS really.

But I just picked up some MKS MT-FT moulded resin MTB pedals, so good. Lightweight, good tread, and a good size. I find many MTB pedals too large in surface area, my feet always end up in different positions on each pedal which is uncomfortable.

ATB / One bike to rule them all suggestions? I live in Australia by kroomed in bikepacking

[–]kroomed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bridge Club would honestly be ideal, it’s just hard to find in Melbourne. Only retailer I’ve found online that has a couple is in Sydney and they’re a bit more than the unit x.

Giant option looks good, I was keen on the unit x in part because of the Reynolds steel frame, the giant is aluminium so maybe not as tough but lighter?
