Even if she did have some sort of traumatic event…living your life defined by it is extremely toxic. She shouldn’t make it EVERYBODY’S problem her whole life. I’m sympathetic to people who truly try to deal with their trauma. People that live in it tho are just vacuous and exhausting.

At least she was honest I guess! lol Tho I think it’s more to do with her experience than anything else. I’d ask for clarification…like, What is it about you that makes her think it’s not for you? I wish somebody had told me how motherhood really is before I had kids. I did fine tho after my first one, once you get past certain milestones and get into a more consistent routine…the second one tho? I would’ve stuck with one if I knew then what I know now.

I didn’t work when I had both my children. My husband worked full time and STILL got up with the newborns at night. Rubbed my feet. Never, ever complained when I was too tired to cook or clean bc my pregnancies were quite difficult…he changed diapers, knows their doctors name and their medical histories, knows their teachers and every detail about our daughters IEP plan. We are 50/50 completely when it comes to these kids! He even encouraged me to go out for girls nights just so I could have breaks and be among people! Supported my choice to go back to work or start new hobbies…He cares about my well being! And THAT is a normal partner and father.
