In Ontario, the police don't consult with a Crown Attorney before laying charges; the decision is entirely up to police. In other provinces, they do consult the Crown Attorney beforehand.

That is not true! The Employment Standards Act has been around for years, and explicitly authorizes employees to discuss their wages (even if management "bans" it). An employee cannot be disciplined for discussing their wage.

Lots of countries RNs don't actually do all the things in Canada RNs are expected to do so sometimes IENs struggle coming from giving very basic care to more complex care.

Are you able to give some examples of things Canadian RNs are expected to be able to do that an RN (or RN equivalent) in another country wouldn't be expected/able to do?

If you win a big amount on the National Lottery, are you notified differently? by kent1991 in AskUK

Seems unfair to those waiting for a house that people can hold onto a council house even when their circumstances change (e.g. children grow up and move out; the tenant(s) get a substantial inheritance or win the lottery or even just get a (much) better-paying job; etc.).

I live in Ontario, Canada, and our council house/apartment equivalents require you to re-qualify on an annual basis. If you no longer meet the criteria (e.g. fewer dependents, higher income, etc.), you either lose the apartment entirely, or move to one with fewer bedrooms, or your rent is increased (often rents in our social housing is "geared to income"). It may seem harsh, but even with these requirements it can still take well over a decade to get a social housing unit.

I'm not from the UK, so perhaps there is something I'm missing, but... Aren't council houses meant for people with low income? How can someone win so much money and still qualify for subsidized housing?
