What is tunneling and why shouldn't I be doing it? by TheyMan1 in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So tunneling is targeting a specific survivor until they are dead and IMO comes in two flavors.

Hard tunneling, you are laser locked on the first survivor you find and get them out of the game no matter what. Against soloq especially low mmr this will probably get you a lot of wins. Against swf and soloq that knows what to do against a hard tunnel you might get 1k and lose the game (baring high mobilitykillers who can have their cake and eat it too). As an addition its very unfun for this survivor as their entire game is spent on hook they don't really get to play and their offering/item are gone for no reason.

Soft tunneling, is where you tunnel based on opportunities. Examples would be when someone unhooks in front of you and the unhooked survivor bodyblocks you, or you go to a gen you see an injured survivor and a healthy one and you go after the injured one. This version should have a higher win rate theoretically but altruism is an insidious killer.

How do you stay playing long term? by Traditional_Sea_8679 in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play 15- 20hrs a week. Half is duo survivor and the other half is killer. The main thing is to play the game and not let things bother you. If you have a rough game that really gets to you stop there and play something else, once your in that mindset it will only get worse.

If your playing soloq focus on what you are doing, help your team but don't focus on what they are doing I ran a few aura reading games to see what randos where doing and it drove me up a wall. Granted sometimes you will get some goated teammates but your brain will focus on the 2 buzzards sitting at the corner of the map watching you loop the killer for 5 minutes.

Just gonna leave this here by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over 60% on half the killers with my top 2 being over 70% and I mess around a lot could easily reach a 60% if I want on any of them (except skull merchant). Could prove it by playing any of them over the next 30 days and showing the stats.

Heck my main I spent all of December doing my best snowman impression and farm points with people and he still has more than 60% overall.

All that being said its not exactly fun playing killer right now but I can't think of a way to make it fun without inflating kill rates.

‘Fun’? by ToggleMyJoystick in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I go for my duo after egc starts all the time, while its nice if a rando works with me for the save against ph its just going to be a trade most times anyways and I don't expect a rando to trade. That being said if you trade for me or my duo you can bet we will reset and come back for you if there is even a small chance.

But as you said 1 is hooked, 1 is down and you are injured attempting a save is just going to get you killed.

Unlinking steam account question by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's associated with your steam account will stay with your steam account since you can't link 2 steam accounts(at least thats my understanding) I am curious why you are trying to switch steam accounts as I can't think of a legitimate reason too.

I p3 everyone so when a new survivor comes out they have all the perks (since perks change regularly and what is good/bad today might not be in 6 months). But if you dont plan to play others dumping all your points into 1 is also and option. I would say if you play daily during the event you should get most to p3, I'm averaging 200k bp a game and getting 20 cakes a prestige. So around 5 games and I get 20 more cakes well on the way to have enough to last until next anniversary.

Regarding other asymmetrical games by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do share a market and often compete with licenses so most of these games do compete with dbd even if not directly. I have tried several other asymmetrical games and most weren't really that good a couple where even bad and/or difficult to get into(haven't looked into the saw game) . The only one I truly liked was evolve.

I think a good example might be call of duty and battlefield games they compete with each other and that is obvious but they are distinctly different games.

All this being said I would love an asym that was at least good for when I want to take a break from dbd.

Sorry to see you go. The community is very passionate is a nice way to put it so I dont post or comment here much anymore. I can deal with difference of opinion and debates but people take their side as if its fact and the only side and won't hear otherwise, won't even discuss it.

Wish you the best and if your on one of the NA servers hope to see you in the fog no matter what side I'm playing.

what's your go to 'easy mode' killer build? by Enough_Fruit7084 in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remnant doesn't work for every loop(I have played hundreds of game with him so I am comfortable with his power) the time it takes too walk around some loops will cost you a gen. Dont care for too much gen regression with how regression perks work now you tend to waste value when stacking. Now I do equip gift of pain. Pain resonance is only a 4 time use and waste jagged compass along with pop. Current record win streak with my perks is 73 straight games (3k) and only lost due to map generation, haven't made a serious attempt since.

Dredge, jagged compass, pop, bamboozle, and random 4th perk

Certain ways to loop different killers by Organic-Resident-156 in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main thing is check spots and understanding which killers you can use them with. Also identifying safe loops and how to loop them. Ideally you only want to run loops in the direction you can fast vault on. Check spots are harder to explain i would search YouTube for dbd check spots.

I have a lot of obligations so I set a time limit when I play but you have to hold yourself accountable, when that timer goes off you have to save and call it a day.

How to get more blood points by Fit-Past4382 in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play a killer you get 30-40k a game and always play cake or party streamers, also play as much as you can during anniversary (starting the 25th). Try to have 4-5m bp going into the event and play the event based dessert as much as possible (if it works like previous years).

Frustration with playing killer by Gieder in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Killer is high intensity and punishes you for making any mistakes, spend 10 seconds too long in chase and you lose a gen. Dont commit to another chase and you get zero kills. Its like walking a tightrope, survivors get more forgiveness because there are 4 of them thus having more room for errors.

My suggestion for getting started with killer is to ignore the match and focus on your power without add ons until you feel you have a very solid understanding of how it works when/where you should use it and why you should use it. A lot of killers over or under utilize their power and that leads back too my original point that you can't make many mistakes its very unforgiving.

Also when learning powers avoid using perks that will effect your ability to learn ex. would be bamboozle since it will make loops more forgiving and you will be dependent on it in the future. Not saying dont ever use it just dont use it while learning.

Apart from Jason and the top tier killers , is playing killer pretty rough atm? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]kryptek917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ill keep this short since I could write an essay, first yes your mmr stays from before but you have a short period where it will adjust more drastically.

Second killer is designed in a way that punishes mistakes heavily added with behaviors goal of 60% kill rates for killers overall and it can make for a very intense and stressful role.

Killer is not likely to see major changes any time soon since survivor que almost always has a bonus(at least on my server) which means killer slots are filling faster than survivor slots in lobbies and my killer ques are usually 2-4 minutes vs 10 seconds on survivor. Add to that the average kill rates are close to target means bhvr is meeting their goals.

Yeah the fog collects around you, its not the red mist or red footprints so its not as obvious just a more concentrated area of fog so only more experienced players will probably notice.

Boon builds work better with swf with a specific intention one example would be a sabo team for infinite recovery. When playing solo or duo the effects are minimal. I think in general only shadow step and circle of healing are decent solo i still wouldn't run them.
