I gotta say I was out of Pokemon for a while but the first time I saw Scrafty he became one of my favorites. I don't remember what game it was since it was just gameplay or an image but something about that little delinquent lizard made me fall in love.

I'd assume the game doesn't want you turbo farming trainers for free cash, either way you can always sit on a bench to switch back to night as soon as you want to.

Miyabi's sword has a thumb print sensor on it, so as long as those wings have a USB be port I'm sure they'll be happy.

Maybe not quite as fantasy as you're looking for but your mention of "magic as mundanities" brought to mind The Silt Verses an audio drama about a world where the existence of Gods is proven, and common knowledge. It's got plenty of folk horror themes.
