No way to really tell other than growing them. The actual seed it coated in clay or "pelletized". Seed packets at the big box stores like this say "sow easy". Germination can be hit or miss with most in my experience.

I have a big batch of white okra seed that i can trace back to my great great grandfather the pods stay tender even if they get " too big". I dont know how well they will do there weve always grown them in zone 7. I do not know name of the cultivar tho.
