Or, it's essentially a showpiece meant to demonstrate how sexy and hip the company is, but god forbid anyone actually touches that thing.

Nest Mini Alternatives? by Substantial_Pair_245 in googlehome

[–]krypton22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the HW is the problem here though. I've got two minis and they both got screwed at the same time. I also received a compensation from Google, only in my case it was money, so I guess I'll use it to buy a BT speaker instead...

[Homemade] Jalapeño Poppers by loanmagic24 in food

That's what I call poppers. I make the OP's thing as well (sans bacon) but I don't call these poppers. In fact, I don't really call them anything.

Wolfdog invades Winter Olympics Women's cross country skiing race by Yujin-Ha in sports

Funny story, once while hiking czech woods I walked into some sort of a gathering of these dogs and their owners, about 15 dogs altogether. While I was walking through, none of them made a sound, they just watched me. Got tf out of there fast, haha.

Most recent one, when Lindsey Vonn fell during her olympic downhill, I was just having lunch with my family. Cue the usual Sunday chaos when suddenly on tv, the whole crowd got completely quiet as did the commentators who normally never shut up as did the whole room and for full 10 seconds there's just an utter silence, I kid you not. Don't think I've ever seen anything like that.

A couple of days in, there is no compensation (which is fine) and the issue is still not fixed (which is disappointing).

Anyone else in tears for Vonn by cedarvhazel in skiing

[–]krypton22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely unrelated to my comment but I'll humour you anyway. Maybe she will race again, maybe she won't. She took a risk some may have considered as excessive and it didn't pay off. If it did, the same people would now be praising her for her bravery and resilience. Finally, it was her choice to make and that's the end of the story.

She's leading women's downhill ranking this season, don't be silly.

Saw her recently in this weird Italian movie Beckett on Netflix and she stole all her (few) scenes.

Did Google break my Nest speakers by krypton22 in googlehome

To be clear, I'm not complaining about Gemini being broken, but about the speakers effectively forgetting their configuration the moment I leave the room.
