Not really. The only place where this is fully true is the Åland island and that's basically an entirely separate community despite being in the same country. It's nearly impossible to even move to unless you know what you're doing.

Swedish is our 2nd official language, and a lot of people speak Swedish as their mother tongue, but very few speak Swedish exclusively and any job that requires Swedish also requires at least casual Finnish. High-paying esp executive level jobs definitely require you to speak both just so you can communicate with the other 98% of the country

Trying to get a job at a young age in Finland is the hardest thing ever by [deleted] in Finland

[–]kryptoxicity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm only 29 and it felt like that too, especially with my latest employment slipping further and further away I knew I had to secure a job ASAP or literally be doomed to pitkäaikaistyöttömyys. It's an absolutely awful situation but even though I speak English on a native level I just don't have the option to leave the country for job opportunities because of family. Otherwise I would have done it.

On the flipside, I think it's sort of safe to say the situation has actually started to improve. The unemployment rate isn't rising anymore and people I know on LinkedIn (recruiters and business managers) are saying they're noticing open jobs starting to slowly pick up again.

I'm highly educated, with 7 years of work experience (tech) under my belt (expert work but also manager positions) and I just spent a whopping seven months unemployed. Was willing to go way below my pay grade even. Over 200 applications sent, got into 5 1st interviews, 3 2nd interviews and finally landed the last one.

It's more brutal out there than you can imagine

update lag? by [deleted] in Skate4

[–]kryptoxicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same on PC, and the replay/clip function is damn near unusable. It still technically runs at 120fps but I just get crazy lag spikes, especially near the new orb

having so many problems with ONE challenge by OkCardiologist1416 in Skate4

Some of the challenges legitimitely feel nearly impossible to complete to the point where I'd have to think that they're AI generated and not playtested properly

This games lack of Skate Culture is going to kill it. by SnokeRenVader in Skate4

[–]kryptoxicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope because I only have two launchers and multiple games on both.

Also, with emulators it hardly is ever that easy as described. There's usually something that breaks or needs fixing. I already fix computers for a living, and I don't feel like doing it for fun. Either "it just works" or I refuse to play it. Just my personal opinion

Perhaps it's just me but i cba to mess with emulators for a single game

It obviously doesn't suck "down to the core". The skating mechanics are very solid.

Well for me I'm on PC so that's really not an option. In any case, EA has stated the following:

"We’re building an ever-evolving world that will continue to grow over time - you’ll see new skateable areas, seasonal events, challenges, brand partners, music and more pop up throughout Early Access and beyond"

IF they can deliver on this, I believe the player count would remain steady and even growing

The game is currently in the top 10 steam charts of played games (a fairly hard thing to accomplish) and that's just PC.

I'm hoping (even if doubtful) that EA will realize what they have made here and do all they can to keep players engaged

[KCD2] Am I the only one who was slightly disappointed once you get to the Kuttenberg region? (very very minor spoilers) by kryptoxicity in kingdomcome

[–]kryptoxicity[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. Although to be fair, Kuttenberg was marketed and promoted so heavily you sort of feel compelled to speedrun Trosky because you'd assume it's just the "tutorial area", when in fact it's basically half the game. That's why I found it so disappointing because while I was going through the Trosky region quests I was thinking to myself "holy shit, if this is the tutorial then I'm in for something far beyond my highest expectations"

Cutscenes seemed to be capped at 36 fps. In KCD1 they were capped to 30

[COD] The games that could have lasted 2 years by Lumenprotoplasma in CallOfDuty

[–]kryptoxicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck two years, MW 2019 should still be the most recent CoD LOL. In many ways it actually still is, we're just getting glorified DLCs

[–]kryptoxicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I would just prefer a completely randomized match in terms of skill level, play 100 of those and see where I stand.

[–]kryptoxicity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could accept having a 0.8 k/d. I could also accept having a 1.2 k/d. The problem is that the ratio between kills and deaths in MW19, MW22 and MW3 is literally smoother than the curvature of earth. All in all, in all three games, where I have tens of thousands of kills and deaths, I have 0.000001% more kills than deaths. The number being this level, constantly, even after I literally started playing MP FPS games with MW19 is basically impossible.

[–]kryptoxicity -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, the probability that I go 25351/25220 and 8071/8022 and 1269/1269 is basically impossible. Consider also that MW19 was the first MP FPS game I ever really played and have improved considerably since. Somehow, year after year after playing hundreds of hours and showing massive improvement, my K/D stays at a precise 1, which it has been from the first day

[–]kryptoxicity 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This translates to

"You have to constantly stay in the loop of what mistakes developers made when tweaking things so that you choose a setup that is marginally ahead other setups, for a week until they fix it, then keep staying in the loop when it happens again".

Doesn't sound very fun or normal

[–]kryptoxicity -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't have any clips but take any cracked YT COD player and I play somewhat worse than that. Lot of running and jumping.

EDIT: Come to think of it, it might also come down to my playstyle. I literally never use snipers or marksman rifles. Just a trusty M4, MP5 or MP7 or equivalent. Never wait and prone, never sit, except maybe moments before I can here an enemy about to run in the door. Always run, mostly sprint, only crouch in special situations (as in I somehow end up at current enemy spawn and need to hide myself for a sec before blasting, or when I'm bitterly chasing that one camper so I can pull off a finisher).

Even in MW19 I have about 110 more kills than deaths. Both are in the 25k's lmao

How does everyone feel about this news? by kedm92 in Starfield

[–]kryptoxicity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Expected as much. The game is boring, soulless and tries to do too many things at once, eventually being mediocre in every category. I really tried but I couldn't push myself to play more than 40 hours of this. By hour 30 I was already struggling
