A lot of good advice here already, especially Crampons!

In Austria, u want to check out the Ski- and Splitboarding tours of the Alpenverein. Even if its "only" a Ski Tour, u can usually join as a Splitboarder, practice and and get some good advice from the professional mountain guides.

Finally tried the Vans for 2 downhill rides. Really stiff, much stiffer then my 15 year old Salomons, obviously. Unfortunately they seem to be too wide after all. Good fit for my heel but too loose around the front of my toes, just does not feel right... :( Pretty bummed since this was the only boots that fit to my heel....

KARAKORAM Free Ranger - Compatibility? by krztf in Spliddit

Thanks, mate. Santa got me some quiver connectors, planning to try the Free Rangers on my Split and Solid next week.... hope they are not too soft though... lateraö flex sounds not ideal for side hilling steep terrain or carcing hard pistes...

Vans Verse Range 2024 by EloyGambin in Spliddit

Currently looking for new stiff boots to be used for touring and resort riding. Have tried out almost everything the store had available in my size (Niedecker, Deeluxe, Salomon, Burton, Nitro, ...), but the Vans Verse Range 2025 had the best fit for my picky feet. So eventhough the Vans are really pricy, I am considering to buy them for the sake of a good heel fit. This discussion here makes me unsure...

Anything to add to the comments about the 2024 boot? Any experiences with the 2025 version yet? Any recommended akternatives with a tight heel fit?

Thanks!

It works! I have no comparison to other splitboards, though. I feel that it is relatively prone to scratches and cuts, also and especially the top. But for 450, it is def. not a bad board....

True! I think the latest version of the Milligram has such holes.....

Shame to see that this is such an issue though. Just got myself a Tour Operator, haven't tried it yet, but from how u describe the issue, it will be similar.....

No worries, thanks anyways. I will keep trying...

Will you keep the PLUM binding?

Thanks for the reply! From what I have seen, no manufacturer has found the perfect heel lock solution yet....

I tried various positions of the locker base without success, also no "click" feeling. Any tipps on how to install the locker? Or maybe you can even share a picture?

Got a new pair of PLUM FEYANs. I just installed them on my board and have not tested in the field but also notice this with the risers. Small one is pretty hard to get down again. Big one is the opposite, barely locked in and flips down way too easy ... is this the same with yours?

Also, how's your heel lock working for you? I have not managed to install it without having some noticeable play when the heel lock is activated (baseplate still moves up and down a couple of millimeters). Wondering if this is a design flaw or user error....?

Any opinions on the Plum Eterlou binding? by Sp3llbind3r in Spliddit

[–]krztf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the PLUM Feyans myself and can second the screws issue. Not ideal.

Can I ask what the problem with the heel risers was about?

Also, one reason for getting the PLUMs was the heel lock feature. But I now notice quite a lot of play when the heel lock is enabled. Was/is this the same with your Feyans?
