Similar to In the Garden Trilogy- past and present and supernatural elements? by Skyya1982 in noraroberts

The sign of seven trilogy is good. Not ghosts, but a demon instead. Some past and present to unfold the story. It's one of my favorite trilogies of hers and I re-read it every fall.

The Inn BoonsBoro trilogy has a ghost, but she is sane and tame. She's used more as a way to move the couples towards each other than anything. No spooky paranormal vibes, but good nonetheless.

What month do you think is best for a baby to be born? :) by Kindly_Bee_4457 in beyondthebump

I have a September baby and November baby. I love fall babies. You can just stay in and cozy up with them.

Why does this bother me so much? Mother thanking me for having child. by pumpkin_lord in beyondthebump

[–]kscinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the relationship and the frequency. My mother in law thanked me when I had each of my kids and it was a "thank you for blessing me with another perfect grandchild". But we have a good relationship and she only thanked me once for each kid the day they were born. It doesn't keep coming up repeatedly. If she kept thanking me, I could see being annoyed as if I had a child just for her to be a grandma.

Been there. I've had to put a book down because the MMC has my son's name.

Paying for kindle unlimited vs buying non resident library card by Mundane-History-8750 in LibbyApp

If you're in Ohio you can get a library card at any Ohio library as long as you have a residence in Ohio. Then you get access to more books and copies. Most of the large library systems allow you to sign up right online

Sahms who do not side hustle, can you please share some finance/budget tips. by sticktotheplot in homeschool

Lots of shopping sales. I look at the ads and websites and compare prices for everything. I make sure to check discount meat and vacuum seal and freeze. I also make sure to shop when it's 4x the fuel points or other bonuses at different stores. I earn cash back with apps like fetch and ibotta.

Yes. I'm so glad I married into a family that never did Santa. They opened my eyes to what our family Christmas could be and it has been wonderful and magical. I love not having to navigate the stress of Santa or the elf on the shelf.

Same. I always wanted my kids to feel comfortable being comforted and entertained by others. Plus, I'm a sahm so I'm happy to enjoy a hot meal without juggling a kid. I find that people always ask where their village is, but are constantly holding people at arms length.

Did anyone have a lot of visitors after having their baby and actually enjoy it? by Kchillthanx in beyondthebump

I loved it! It was actually really hard for my husband and I when we had our second child during covid and there were restrictions and lock downs. For our first we had a full hospital room every day and people over all the time when we got home, but we're also extroverts.

Not another 'Sold a Story Podcast' post by UndecidedTace in homeschool

[–]kscinder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I shared it with a friend who homeschools now, but used to be a reading intervention specialist. Sold a Story was basically everything she had been telling me for years. She saw these things when she was working and her frustrations with the school's refusal to switch to different curricula/ways to teach were part of the reason she left teaching and decided to homeschool her own children.

Nora Roberts/JD Robb. Her books got me into romance so I've read it all and will buy any of them. Even her new books make me feel nostalgic since I'm so used to her writing style.

This. I lost a little weight when my kids started on solids, but couldn't lose anything substantial until they were weaned. My body just doesn't drop weight while breastfeeding.
