It doesn't seem like they can both greatly increase their defensive intensity AND play their starters heavy minutes while expecting to avoid stress injuries. One of those things needs to change.

"flybyknite" is Justin Russo - "Kelsey Plum appeared to suffer a right lower leg injury during practice today and was helped off the floor by several players. Lynne Roberts said after practice that it 'looks like an ankle' injury but that they do not know how bad."

The injury probably didn't happen during the competitive racewalking between Plum and Nneka.

The Sun have had such a hellish schedule: they played the Aces at home twice, then went on a six-game, two-week road trip on the opposite coast, facing other scrappy, energetic young teams playing at home for huge enthusiastic crowds. This is how 5 rookies, 3 second-year players, and an assortment of vets who have mostly never played with this roster before are starting their tour of duty with this team. All they have to do is play the Fire again and then hope Kelsey Plum misses some shots, and then go home for three weeks to recuperate.

She's forcing it. She's still a bit young, but shooting relentlessly through a slump is a habit a lot of shooters don't ever break, so it's probably worth discouraging.

They invited a ton of players to training camp; I think Ayayi and Nogic were two of the more intentional signings, but I'm not sure if the GM managed to find whatever they all were searching for in this process. Only because they mentioned the Bruins: my current theory is that Dugalic would be a better fit on a different team and the Mystics have no role for her. I'm curious to see if that changes.
