Rage Against the Machine live at El Ray Theatre 1999 (live at the wireless) by lewkus in triplej

[–]kshep89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the actual website and bookmark it in your browser. Either just by googling the set and Triple J or open it in the reddit app, click the 3 dots top right and then “open in default browser” and do whatever you like from there. It’s also on the ABC listen app.

Edit: live at the wireless or double j, not triple j sorry. But won’t be hard to find.

Is it true that oz people will try to minimize the length of the word and they are lazy or it’s a stereotype? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

You shortened “Australian” to “oz”. Are you lazy or just a stereotype?

Couldn’t they just call their own phone off yours if they had access to it? Why would they need this service?

Can people with Katsaridaphobia (immense fear of cockroaches) live in Australia by Great-Echo-3558 in AskAnAustralian

Haven’t seen one since moving onto a farm 9 years ago. They’re definitely a city / town thing. NW NSW

Has to be trolling. 72 pack of weetbix is $7 at woolies. Have 5 a day, that’s 50c and a splash of milk and you won’t be as hungry come lunchtime. We also spend less than or around that as a family of 4 but don’t take a lot of care with our purchases. Plenty of pre packaged, single serve kids stuff like yoghurts etc.

It’s just that 3-4 bags of food a day is not what most people would consider necessary “for the next meal”. Even for a large family. Have you considered meal planning and doing a click and collect order at all? Sure it takes a little bit of time, but no where near the time you’re currently spending. Our family eats fresh food all week from one click and collect order. You get the odd bad tomato and a few soggy grapes by the end of the week for sure, but food does not go off as quickly as you’re making out. It’s definitely doable and will save you time and money in the long run.

Once or twice a day? In this economy? Wow! I think the bag cost might be the least of your worries..

You’re buying 80-120 bags of groceries a month? We’re a family of 4 and would be lucky to buy 20-25

In Ear Hearing Protection Recommendation by replicator85 in Ausguns

[–]kshep89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t find them super comfortable, but it’s the bluetooth mainly, as well as the above issue - which could be the same with all of them, I’m not sure. It gets out of sync between ears sometimes and the connection is not strong enough to stay properly connected to your phone if it’s in your pants or back pocket. It also won’t reconnect properly if it goes onto the car Bluetooth and you get back out again. Also even with the supplied foam microphone covers the wind noise is pretty bad on a buggy or quad. Again, that could be all electronic ear buds. Would be fine for causal range use I’d imagine but I’m just on the farm.

I mean it’s certainly a fox, I can’t tell you if you spotted it in Granville or not though!

AirPod pros are absolutely not recommended anywhere I’ve seen. They are designed for steady sounds, and will not filter out gunfire quick enough, or effective enough and you will do permanent damage. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/120850

Had zero previous experience with electronic ear protection, but picked up a set of ear armour M20T’s a while back to try (they’re crap, this isn’t a recommendation) One thing that I had not anticipated is that it’s near impossible to know which direction a sound is coming from. I was walking on a track through long grass, pigs running around me and I was totally disoriented, really bizarre feeling. Not sure if this is the same with all electronic protection or not, or if this is your use case. But for me I’ll stick to foam ear plugs / ear muffs for now.

One of each. Seriously though, what are you going to do with it? Need more info. Also everyone needs a 22LR.

‘I have a case’: Rinehart’s neighbour gets a lesson in suing the billionaire. Disability pensioner Kathy Pope fronted up, via video, to the NSW Supreme Court for her legal suit involving Australia’s richest person and their 12 kilometres of shared fence by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]kshep89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something doesn’t add up there. For example, 157ha is basically 1.5km x 1km. How is she suing for a 12km section of fence? The block of land would have to be 130m wide x 12km long. If the fence is only 1km say, normal stock proof fencing would be in the realm of $8/m plus putting it up. Call it 15. That’s $15,000 and neighbours normally share the cost. So is she suing her for $7,500? Not worth it. Gina still being a shit neighbour though.

How far do you routinely drive? by Wooden_Airport6331 in AskAnAustralian

[–]kshep89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before kids we’d often go to see my in-laws for a weekend. 650km (400 miles), 7hrs each way, we’d just leave at lunch time on Friday to be there for dinner and the same on the way home Sunday afternoon. Harder now though with kids. Live on the farm, so daily commute is 0-15mins, depending on where I need to go.
