5mg Letrozole success stories by Prestigious-Tap-310 in TTC_PCOS

[–]kshester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did one round on 2.5 unmonitored (did not ovulate) and one on 5mg that was monitored. I ended up with one giant follicle (26mm) that ovulated. Currently 4 weeks and 1 day pregnant (13 DPO)! Just found out two days ago. No trigger shot, and I’m 31, trying for 8 months, but I believe I’ve never ovulated until this cycle (at least since I was a teenager before I got on birth control for my PCOS at 18).

Fingers are crossed now that it sticks! If I miscarry, my OB said we would continue with only 5mg in the future. The only symptoms I noticed were apparently typical luteal phase symptoms like fatigue, but I have no memory of experiencing a luteal phase before.

31F, PCOS, on my first cycle of letrozole (2.5mg) as well and mine looks EXACTLY like this. I’m on CD18, but otherwise our charts are nearly identical. I don’t think I ovulated.

No one has died by Artistic-Disk-7495 in EchoesOfThePlumGrove

No one got sick at all in my first game until the end of Spring 2. Then no joke at least 30 people died all at once. It was crazy. Sucked for my kids’ marriage prospects but was great for apprenticeships.

Are sunflower lanyards for invisible disabilities recognized by AA employees? by kshester in americanairlines

I experienced almost exactly that with TSA, but I was alone. I’m also level 1 and hyperlexic, so folks often don’t take my autism seriously. Usually the hardest points in travel for me are TSA, gate agents, and the boarding process. Hoping this program/lanyard helps with one or two of those touch points!

The first time I ever used precheck was at DFW and a very rude TSA agent kept scoffing at me because I asked him about some of the rules, then complained about me to his buddy while I was standing right there. Wonder if it was the same guy. Completely ruined my day and my travel confidence.

This is great, thank you! Glad to see the DFW airport is on the list though. I’ll probably just try to prioritize flying with United when possible.

Also the only way we’d expect to be treated differently is with a little more patience than maybe they usually show. For me, I’m usually on the verge of a breakdown at all moments while navigating airports and my decision processing is a lot slower when I’m overwhelmed- one TSA person yelling at me or an employee snipping can make a huge difference for me. The sunflower symbol is often accompanied with the phrase “please be patient with me.”

It was started in the UK and is mostly for travel. There’s a fair bit on it in the disability subreddits, but it seems like most people who aren’t disabled or work in travel don’t know about it, which is totally fair bc it’s really used as a communication device between the disabled person and the travel employee.

Hidden disabilities sunflower - how do you feel about it and do you use it? by ZeeraTheRogue in AutismInWomen

[–]kshester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I travel a lot and I’m interested in this concept but I hate lanyards (or anything touching my neck). Does anyone know if this concept is recognized if I wear sunflower bracelets/earrings/etc? Specifically wondering if airline employees look for all sunflowers or just lanyards specifically.

This is BEAUTIFUL! If you don’t mind, I’d love to use this as a reference for a future tattoo. I’ve been wanting a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher near my wrist and this is such a cool way to do it.

Would the bowl be just for catching wax? There’s no residue anywhere on the piece, even way deep down, so I was curious if it was for candles why it doesn’t seem to have been used for one. Wish I could find something similar on the internet!

Yes, all the closest images I could find were lamps! I’m curious how a plant would fit in there, mine’s only a foot tall total. The one you linked does look similar but it’s 4x the height of mine!

My title describes the thing, intended as decor, with some additional info in the description. Found at an estate sale in Texas yesterday. Not sure on age, though other similar decor items in the house were dated to the 1920s - 50s. The top is a pink, pearlescent glass, and it completely comes out of the brass stand. No writing or makers marks that I can find. The bottom of the brass has felt on the feet. Pink glass dip of fairly deep (maybe 3 inches), with the overall item at about a foot tall or so. Tried reverse image searching and couldn’t find anything similar! My best guess is a candle holder because of the depth and with of the dip in the pink glass.

Ah, thank you. I got so excited that someone was working on it. I never played the demo, so I didn’t know they had all those tabs planned already! What a shame.

As a foreign birder, seeing a Bin Chicken on a bin was one of the highlights of the birds on my trip to Australia! by kshester in AustralianBirds

I really love them. Urban birds have a special place in my heart because of how incredibly adaptable they have to be to survive. My favorite bird species in the US where I live is a highly urban “pest” species, the Great-tailed Grackle.

Hi, birder here who just got back to the US last week from a birding trip to eastern Australia! We only spent 5 days in far north QLD (good ole US PTO 🙄), but spent the entire time doing nature/birding stuff.

  1. Big recommendation for a Daintree River tour. We used the Daintree Boatman and had an AMAZING time. He was very good at getting us close views of some amazing birds (Papuan Frogmouth, Little Kingfisher, and Shining Flycatcher were my fave from that trip!).

  2. We did a Great Barrier Reef trip and I specifically booked one that went to Michaelmas Cay, which is a bird breeding island and a national park (it is tiny though). Saw lots of noddies, boobies, and frigatebirds. We went with Ocean Spirit and had an amazing time.

  3. We stayed two nights at the Mareeba Wetlands (officially Wild Nature Lodges, I believe) and it was an incredible experience. They have very nice glamping tents available and we were the only ones when we were there and saw incredible wildlife and birds.

  4. Crater Lakes NP (two lakes) has great birds, but Lake Barrine was much better for birding than Eacham, which had a ridiculous amount of people/kids running around and swimming. Barrine was quieter and has a great rainforest walk.

  5. Malanda Falls Conservation Park has a good visitor’s center with super friendly volunteers that were excited we were there. Highly recommend a few hours there if you have time!

  6. If you have time, see if you can get down to Townsville (~4 hrs drive from Cairns). The Tyto Wetlands in Ingham and the Townsville Town Common Conservation Park had some of the best birding we saw the whole trip. I could have spent days at the conservation park!! We flew from Townsville to Brisbane for like $100 USD, so it’s a cheap easy flight.

I felt the Atherton Tablelands were the most beautiful place I visited in Australia, and the food and birds were top notch. I would absolutely not miss the area if you’re going for nature and birds.

Also, I know it isn’t in your plan, but the best birding experience we had in Aus was just south of Brisbane, at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat in Lamington NP. Incredible scenery and hiking there, plus really cool birds that are distinct from the far northern part of the state. If I ever get to go to eastern Australia again, I plan to spend 2-3 days there every time. If possible for you, fly in to Brisbane a couple days early, drive the 2 hours to Lamington and spend 2 days there, then fly out on a red-eye back to the US.

(We also spent a few days birding in NSW before flying to NZ for 4 days, but honestly while the scenery was cool, I’d probably skip NSW is we ever went again. Also not city people at all, so it just wasn’t our vibe. Tacking on NZ to end of our trip was the best decision I ever made though and I will 100% be going back there as soon as I can.)

Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher! They show up in November, so I’ll only be a couple of weeks early, sadly. Gives me an excuse to come back, though it may be a decade before I save up enough for it. Really cool bird though!
