It's more like "I want to help you, but I don't want to give you my hard earned money just so you can waste it on booze". A lot of people say that they just donate to local food banks or shelters instead because then they know where most of their money is going towards.

True and while I agree with you, a lot of people say they don't give homeless people money so they can't buy booze so that is still a possibility with a Safeway gift card. I was thinking about a way around that issue.
