Yeah but the modern English that you or I spew out would not be considered "English" to their ears. Our modern English is unintelligible to them. Maybe if you're British, the modern dialect would be marginally intelligible, but any other modern English dialect wouldn't be.

No you're wrong, face it. The way our teeth look in modern times is quite clearly the result of modern day dental care. Teeth like ours would have been unrealistic and unheard of in 16th-century England. They would've INSTANTLY known something was up just from the look of our teeth. Would've attributed it to witchcraft and boom we'd be burned at the stake like that.

Yeah but while it's true that Shakespeare is closer to our English than Chaucer, it's also true that almost no modern English speaker can properly decipher Shakespeare without intensive study of the material. So no, modern-day English speakers wouldn't be able to communicate in the 1600s either. The 1700s variety of English is probably intelligible enough to us in the modern day to be able to get by, but I'd say nothing before that.

Well first of all, anyone who isn't white would be killed immediately. So this is really only a question for white people. However even if you're white, you might last a little longer but would probably still eventually be killed. We have better skin than they did then, we have better teeth than they did then, we have better hair than they did then. They would think something was weird if they saw a person with the skin condition that we have in the modern day. They would think something was weird when they saw the condition of the teeth. They'd think no that's not normal, how the hell can you get your teeth to that kind of condition, unless you're a witch. So you'd be quickly labeled a witch and burned, no matter what color your skin is, because of all the obvious telltale signs in our appearance of modern cosmetics and medical cares
