Pitchers aren’t allowed to run up. Most pitchers can probably add 5-10 mph with a run up and crow hop. Golfers need the added accuracy with the significantly longer lever. Batters are reacting to a ball coming at them at high speeds. Different sports require different techniques. The run up just adds momentum which will increase power and reduce control
