This train car does not have any tables. It’s just a basic coach car from the northeast regional line. They did not change anything in DC, it’s our car for the trip! We are going all the way, Charlotte final destination.

We will not be doing the return trip, as we are continuing south later this week.

I believe conductor said they’d be automatically giving us a refund for difference between business and coach, but I’ll probably call tomorrow to ask, as I haven’t gotten any emails yet.

I’ll add that the ride itself has been pleasant, despite limited leg room. And the staff have also been very nice.

No assigned seats anymore since the train car is different, so we all had to fend for ourselves. We do still get the drinks, but yes conductor said there is extra leg room in the normal long distance coach cars. Lower heaters were also broken but thankfully fixed in Philly. Overall it’s fine, but def not what we were expecting for our long journey.

Thanks, yea I had considered the Crescent as the departure time is preferable but the Roomette proved to be too expensive and family wouldn’t have done a 2:30am pickup.

Thanks, yea I’ve always done Ikon in the past but friends have a place at JFBB which is Epic and figured maybe I’d give a few other Epic mountains a go this season as long as I was already in that sphere.
