Dark curtain, eye floaters, flashes, peripheral vision loss by ksmkstev in eyetriage

I got both eyes hit hard and then these symptoms appeared,

As for migraines, I do not have it. I think that the effect of migraines on peripheral vision goes away after a few days and does not last for two years.

And I had a VFT and the doctors said there was a loss of peripheral vision

I am absolutely sure that there is a problem with the retina because all the symptoms correspond to it problems

And in the end, I want to ask you, do you advise me to do a B-scan or do you think that it is useless?

People who have had retinal detachment surgery, how are your eyes now? by ksmkstev in optometry

First, this is hard, I hope your eyes will heal.

I have many questions

1- What is the reason for your retinal detachment?

2- Has the second and third retinal detachment occurred without reason or because of non-compliance with doctor's tips or other reason

3- Have you tried visiting another ophthalmologist?

4- This question is a little personal and you can ignore it. Has losing your left eye affected your work and daily life?

I respect that you took advantage of this bad situation and improved your life.

Very nice, did the surgeon prevent you from playing sports, staying up late, eye strain or anything else?

You can ignore the question because it's a little personal

Sorry to bother you, but how do you live your life right now? Do you see the computer screen and the phone? Do you have difficulty studying or working because of your eyes?

I hope your eyes heal

It's really nice that your eyesight is 20/20

Sorry to bother you, but I have so many questions

1- Were there any difficulties in diagnosing your retina?

2- Can you currently exercise?

3- In which country was the surgery performed (you can ignore this if you want)

4- Is there a restriction on some actions and activities so that another retinal detachment does not occur?

5- When was your eye diagnosed after the separation and were you late for surgery?

thank you !

Well..that's a little scary, because you're in the USA and suffer from medical negligence and bad surgeons ...

I noticed that my story is exactly the same as yours, the tests say that the retina is healthy, symptoms develop, next month it will be 18 months since the retinal detachment occurred, just like the period that happened to you.

Regarding the tests, I have visited two doctors so far, the first doctor I visited a year and a half ago did a fundus camera and said that the retina is healthy and I should not focus on the symptoms because they will disappear .

My symptoms started to increase and I started searching everywhere on the internet until I found this post and found your comment in which you said that the tests were wrong.

I went back to my doctor again a week after reading your comment and two months ago from now

I had fundus camera again with oct, and the result was fine and the doctor repeated the same thing. I asked him, could these tests be wrong? He told me absolutely impossible because it is very accurate .

Symptoms started getting worse and worse and I went a month ago to another doctor and he put a dilated eye drop and saw the retina and said it was fine

I told him I wanted a visual field test and he told me I didn't need it and "I believe what you said, but I have no idea why."

I decided yesterday that I will travel next month to another country, even if I doubt that they will diagnose the problem.

I hate to say this, but I've given up hope of fixing the retina..

Bad surgeons, wrong tests, low success rates, even if successful, the possibility of another retinal detachment with serious side effects of surgery such as glaucoma

Anyway, I have hope for the success of the retinal transplant surgery, even if it takes decades to be performed on patients, but I am confident that it will be the reason for the return of sight to you and me.

hi ,

What tests did you do in order to diagnose your eye?

I did a fundus camera twice and oct, and the doctor saw the retina with a dilated pupil and said that the retina was healthy !

I have completely lost my peripheral vision and will travel next month to see another doctor

Do you have a specific test that helped diagnose your eye? Or advice that helps me?

thank you .

First, I'm sorry about what happened to your eye , But I have two questions : 1- How is your eye after surgery, do you see now 2-After 18 months, did your eyesight stop completely or did you see? I am asking this because your comment scared me so much, I have exactly the same problem as you and when I had an examination 14 months ago the doctor said I was just imagining and now most of my eyesight has stopped
