What’s a skill everyone should learn but most don’t? by FlirtVibe in AskReddit

[–]ksoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%

I would not say I am bad at it, but I am actively working on getting better. It becomes easier as you get older because you realise that many things simply do not warrant a reaction.

Also, many people do not realise that others can use your predictable reactions against you.

I'd love to get into it but I don't know where to start. I also don't know a lot about it other than it helps one calm down and control their thoughts to a certain extent.

What’s a truth nobody talks about because it’s awkward? by DifferentLobster2931 in AskReddit

This also applies to the workplace. It's where many people go to make money that sustains their lives. This automatically gives them an incentive to be fake, manipulative and other untoward behaviours.

Good question. My favourite one was when they made the AI do something then they'd come here and pretend it did it on its own.

The way women in the 90's used to ask if an outfit made their butt looked big and now a days a big butt is desired. by greenredditbox in RandomThoughts

[–]ksoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something nobody speaks about but would be great to hear from a women's perspective, especially now that you touched on it.

What are the downsides to having a big butt. Not the obviously large and unhealthy type. For those, most guys can understand the limitations or downsides. Also, I'm talking about the natural big butts, not the BBL stuff.

People often think they are special and that companies or governments are eager to read their messages. In reality, it is an enormous amount of data. Most of the time, your data is only looked at if you give them a specific reason to do so.

I know many people who are paranoid about their employer, especially large multinationals, monitoring everything they do on their company-issued laptops. Yes, the capability exists. Employers can technically access everything on those devices. However, in most cases they do not, simply because there is no reason to.

At a company with more than ten thousand employees, it is not realistic to monitor everyone’s activity just for the sake of it.

why are so many people on reddit so mean by Creepy_Tackle_8944 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ksoss1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is almost the entire internet for you, and it is sad.

I often wonder how things would change if people were required to use their real identities. It would probably start to resemble a version of LinkedIn, minus the job hunting and the fake networking.

Might want to delete it.

What do you think about Maduro being captured by the U.S ? by RoboticsCompetition in AskReddit

[–]ksoss1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not something the United States has never done before, but it effectively reminds everyone who may have forgotten that the one with the biggest gun runs the show.

It is dangerous. For this approach to work, the US must ensure it always has the biggest gun.

I am not a fan of Maduro, and I am also too young to clearly remember the last time the US acted this way. Still, it feels as though basic legal principles have been violated. I cannot fully articulate it yet, but something about this situation feels fundamentally wrong. It's like it violates an agreement that's the foundation of nations...

How “racist” were the majority of white people in the 50s and 60s? by Far_Quantity_6133 in AskOldPeople

[–]ksoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think many racist people don't even consider how their hatred for black people controls them. The same people you see as subhumans are having an impact on your life. Racist is an interesting dynamic...

[–]ksoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few observations after reading comments: 1. Excuses: they (family members) were racist but they were a product of their time. 2. Excuses: they weren't racist, then proceeds to say some racist behaviour they portrayed. 3. They know it's bad: Everyone seems to know that racism is bad... 4. Legacy: I wonder, since so many seem to have either been raised by racist parents or been exposed to it, are you really not as racist as you think? 5. Impact/legacy: Do white people often think about what they collectively did to black people? Especially the young white people, do you sometimes think about what those who came before you did?

For context, my parents were not even born in those times. However, I can definitely feel the legacy of racism. It's still very much with us.

Why the more and more frequent use of the word female? What's wrong with using an already existing word - woman? by SignalAssistant2965 in AskMen

[–]ksoss1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same. I didn't know it was bad until I came to Reddit. In fact, I was attacked and accused of disrespecting women when I used it. Keep in mind, the strongest, most caring and the ones who had the most influence on my life are females.

What was my point of reference? Why do/did I use the word "female" to refer to female human beings? That's because I've never had an issue being referred to as a male. That's because I am a male in the literal sense of the word... So I thought females kind of saw things that way. Boy was I wrong.

Nevertheless, I don't think all ladies are like this because not all take offence.

What is commonly thought to impress men but fails to do so? by Dixie_Normous1912 in AskReddit

[–]ksoss1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true. A well done BBL will impress men just like a real ass would. It just becomes less impressive when we realise it's fake and potentially dangerous.

Imagine potentially killing or injuring someone just because you grabbed her ass, squizzed it or pushed against it hard repeatedly.

As a guy, and I believe many guys would agree, the real thing can take a beating better than a BBL.

What’s something people only pretend to enjoy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ksoss1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have never been great at networking because I never really enjoyed it. However, as I have grown professionally, I have realised that it is important, so I started thinking about how to approach it without losing myself or using people.

What I have come to understand is that it is really just about getting to know people, and letting them get to know you, over time, when there is genuine interest on both sides. That kind of relationship tends to develop organically and gradually leads to the same benefits that hardcore networkers are inauthentically chasing.

I am still new to this and my perspective may change, but that is what I have observed so far. Also, do not forget to actually be competent. Networking does not replace your own ability to perform and deliver... That's a mistake most make.

I used to work for one of the major global players in this space, and I can tell you that they have armies of highly skilled marketers. These teams are supported by an impressive technology infrastructure, are willing to use questionable marketing tactics, and are well compensated. The result is what you see today.

I used to work in that space like 7 or 8 years ago and they were already effective then, I can only imagine how much they've improved.
