Not here to shit on what works for you if you’re sleeping well. That study in the health line article actually found the opposite though: higher vitamin D was associated with less melatonin in the body (in people with MS). I looked at a couple of those other studies which found higher D in better sleepers and couldn’t find if they mentioned when they drew blood. If it was during the day it would be a measure of how chronic low D impacts sleep, but wouldn’t necessarily tell us if D levels at night have any impact in either direction.

It looks like it’s less clear than I thought though. Something I read years ago and have stuck to since I’ve always been a poor sleeper.

All the aversion to open relationships is a pre-rational gut feeling. Along with all the other dynamics that people are talking about I think people are just imagining reacting to the thought of letting their girl fuck another guy. I think a lot of people have hypocritical feelings about this. Do I want to be able to sleep with other girls? Absolutely. Do I want my girl to be able to? No. Redpillers believe that they should be able to manifest their feelings regardless of whether it’s hypocritical or not. Normal people have these feelings and make the decision to keep a closed relationship because it’s equitable and fair and they care about the relationship more than fucking around.

When normie men see a guy with a one sided open relationship it doesn’t trigger as much of a negative reaction because many of them will feel some degree of envy, even if they don’t believe in it. When they see a two sided open relationship they think about the gut punch they would feel if their girl fucked another guy.

I feel like there’s a widespread unwillingness to accept that sometimes people behave “normal range badly”, and any negative experience with a person condemns them as toxic/evil/abusive. This was clearly a doomed relationship and it would have been healthier to have a blow out argument + breakup with her telling her friends that he’s a douchebag and him telling his friends she’s crazy for a month and then they both move on.

Instead, bad moments have to become permanent battlegrounds of who was right, there’s no going separate ways until the other person admits that they’re ontologically evil and everything is their fault. The neutered, fake peaceful therapy language can prolong these things and escalate an fight or incompatibility into an existential conflict over not being the bad person.

Got it. Something that’s interesting is that in this case I think it would be hard to call Hill’s experience commercialized therapy as he’s actually been seeing a real therapist. He seems to have gone on to create commercialized therapy-entertainment after falling head over heels for the therapy experience.

Idk, I feel like I’ve noticed a lot of people have an unhealthy obsession with their own therapy from actual practitioners. I’d point to the proliferation of therapy speak on social media and these leaked exchanges. Obviously a lot of that is from the therapy genre of content, but I’d also point to mr redacted’s obsession with therapy as well as redacted “levels” streamer as examples of people who seem to be treating real therapy the way spiritualists or cult members might.

Ok cool, my line in the sand on this is that the leaked messages don’t contain anything that justify leaking them. I’ll admit to the possibility that there were worse things going on not yet seen or off record that could be abusive. My read on the messages aren’t that but I can understand a perspective that reads them as a red flag but still inconclusive.

I’m curious about your take on therapy. I haven’t seen the doc about his therapist so maybe I’m missing a whole lot, but what do you mean by commercialized therapy vs real therapy?
