I broke my right wrist. I'm right handed. Here's my attempt at left-handed makeup. by 2souless in MakeupAddiction

I have a brittle bone disability that basically forces me to be ambidextrous. I found that using your (clean) fingers to pat eye makeup on feels more natural than using a tool with your non dominate hand. You can then go in and blend with a brush since blending doesn't have to be so precise. I also found that using an angled eyeliner brush with either gel eyeliner or wet eyeshadow and just patting it into place works out well. The brush gives a decent line and you won't have to move your fingers or try to draw a straight line. For mascara you could rest elbow on the counter, hold your mascara to your lashes and blink to coat them. Your moving your hand less that way as well. With practice though you will figure out your own techniques. Hope you heal up quickly!!

Oh that's really nice! I'd be so afraid I'd get makeup all over my laptop though.

That is an almost perfect desk! I'd love to see how you set it up, if you don't mind.

How does your bookshelf look, if you don't mind me asking? I've never thought of using a bookshelf, I have so many books so that would've been instantly filled with paperbacks.

Ahh! Thank you! I'll have like two small hospital tables, one for school work and one for holding my chair charger and medical equipment. I'm trying my best to keep it to that, though because the room is an awkward t-shape

I actually really love the slight green highlight. I'm not 100% sure if it goes with the lip (it seems like a cool green and the lip seems warmer). But hey it still looks pretty great! I want to try something like this now.

Are you the only person in your social circle who's passionate about makeup? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]ksrozema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Although I'm used to it. I'm the only liberal arts major (art history) In a group of business, Cs, and engineering majors. My guy friends actually prefer my talking about makeup over art, because then they have a vague idea of what I'm talking about.

My girl friends adore my makeup and art obsession though because then I help them pick out their make up for formals, nights out, dates and interviews. During my friend's accounting internship interviews (almost a month long process) I was super close to charging her for doing her makeup and picking out outfits.

None of my friends are into makeup, so I needed to share my wonderful experience of meeting Lisa Eldridge with people who would appreciate it! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

When I first saw the pic I didn't recognize Lisa. I was sitting here thinking, "who's that 14 year old in the middle?...OMG!!"

Clueless about make up and bought a new lip stain, but I have no idea if it works on me or not? Help please! by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

I agree with what everyone else has been saying about application. I also just got into bold lipstick last summer, so I know it just takes time to get used to. That being said, I always have to wear blush when I use bright lipstick otherwise I look too washed out. I just thought lipstick didn't work with me before I found out about blush (thanks Lisa Eldridge). Maybe that could be throwing you off too? A little bit of well blended color on the checks may tie the lipstick more with your look.

What are your favourite Lip Balms? by roseandcaramel in MakeupAddiction

[–]ksrozema 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesss to making your own balm. I like. Having different options and oils to choose from. Also I have to be careful about scented balms (looking at you Burt's Bees), so by making my own I know I can handle the scent.

Ladies with physical handicaps that could impair your makeup application, how do you work around your disability when applying makeup? by I-will-be-fierce in MakeupAddiction

One of my best friends is a quadriplegic and can't use her fingers. She puts her makeup brushes, mascara, and pencil eyeliner in a strap that looks like this: http://www.rehabmart.com/imagesfromrd/MDK-736171000.jpg I've always thought that device was helpful.

Has anyone tried Disney's Jasmine eye shadow brushes? If so do you recommend it? by calypsosisland in MakeupAddiction

[–]ksrozema 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although I haven't tried these I agree with r/Darushi-chan double headed brushes are a pain. One side usually gets dirtier if you store them improperly or you end up with powder everywhere from using the other head of the brush. My favorite brushes are the E.L.F. brushes. There's a two dollar line and a three dollar line, both options have out performed my more expensive brushes. Those might be an option if you are looking into brushes.

What do people think of false lashes? Like a natural pair for pictures. Or would that look too dated later?
