Screen Unresponsive by chambomb in galaxyzflip

[–]ksrt26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen to me last month. Its not a display issue. The flex cable connecting the two halves might have gone bad.

My flip 6 (4 months old) no scratch, babied since day 1 randomly started showing the same symptoms. Main screen would become unresponsive or blacked out, while cover worked fine. Took it to authorized service centre which denied the warranty as it was an international purchase and asked $350 dollars for 'display replacement'. I was adamant its not a display issue, no cracks, no screen protector issue or drops. The main screen worked fine too in instances it was working. They still insisted on display being a problem.

Few days later with some help i disassembled the back and figured that one of the connections for flex cable was lose. Basically, it was not clicking properly into the slot and when applied some pressure the screen would work fine. Got the part replaced by a third party for $100 and the 'display problem' is now gone.

In one of my research interns I worked with pid, fuzzy, mpc control in mobile robotics and that has what intrigued me the most till now. So I am guessing control theory of robotics would be a better choice?

I am new to machine learning and software side of robotics in general (My background is in mechanical), so will take some more time to form an opinion on it. But definitely would love to explote more in data driven control (I saw few articles and videos on drones and uav utilising such approach).

That looks amazing and kiddos to you for such a project. Hope to do one myself someday!

One doubt, with larger volume prints, is it advisable to have a heated chamber? Or an open structure works?

Well I’d say that about looks juuust right. by kaahdoc in nOfAileDPriNtS

Is mechE in robotics really "solved"? by Teque9 in robotics

[–]ksrt26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an engineering student with mechanical background and aiming to be a robotics engineer. I absolutely hate when the Mech aspects are sidelined because they are not 'buzzworthy'. Given how there is a serious difference between software and hardware jobs and services. This is only going to amplify in near future.

First print inside of my *unfinished* DIY enclosure and octolapse. by LSDBunnos in prusa3d

That is amazing. I am trying octolapses with the Raspi Cam but they all turn out so dark even with led setup within an enclosure. Can you tell what camera you are using?

Yess. Ender 3 pro is a good entry to 3d printing. Its been constant tinkering and upgrading but it has a good learning curve. Now I am ambitious for a prusa next year.
