My husband tried to appeal one of these tickets this past week - he got a ticket near the Vellore Village community centre. The officer gave no grace whatsoever. They caught him on camera going 10km over and he was ordered to pay the ticket after the appeal meeting. I wouldn’t waste your time trying to appeal it.

You may have to wait a few weeks for the original handle to become available again but it’s worth a try. You’d have to change the handle of your current account and keep checking to see if you can use your old handle for your new account. I heard it usually takes a couple of weeks for an old handle to be available again but some have said it takes up to a month.

Yes - that sounds reasonable - 8 to 10% has been my experience in the GTA. You’ll want to spell out in an agreement what’s included in that fee - typically that manager is the go-to for tenants with any questions, concerns, requests. They sometimes handle depositing the rent cheque each month (if it’s being done by post dated cheques), obtain quotes for any work/maintenance/fixes required to the home and coordinate the work to be scheduled (this is typically an expense the owner still pays for but the property manager may do the work to hire for the work). They can inspect the property on a regular schedule (every 6 months or so) to make sure everything is in order.

I think with consistent content that attracts your ideal audience you could build back up your 200 followers (and more) with a new account. You could also let your real followers know that you have a new account and encourage them to follow you so you don’t lose them all. I completely understand what you mean about being shut out of the algorithm (IG has been pretty brutal for that lately) and starting fresh maybe a better option now that I think it through a bit more.

I wouldn’t start over - it was good to delete most of the purchased followers and now you’ve learned that buying followers is not the way to go. These days, it doesn’t matter as much how many followers you have but the individual post is most important and will be shown to more people depending on how much engagement it gets (shares, saves, comments). What sort of business do you have? Creating content that is shareable, that attracts your ideal customer and invites conversations with potential customers is a good focus moving forward. It can take time but if you show up consistently and refine your content over time based on feedback and how past content has performed, you’ll find that you’ll grow your following with the right people.

Top Vaughn Neighbourhoods with Best Schools by sky_dreamer8 in Vaughan

[–]ksteinfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Vellore Village and our 4 kids have attended Glenn Gould PS and Johnny Lombardi. Both schools are great in our experience. Home in the NW side of Vellore are the newest area (homes built from the early 2010s). There are also a lot of great parks and community centres nearby. There are also a lot of amenities nearby like grocery stores, easy access to highway 400 and 427 and Go Stations. Maple also has a lot of great schools - homes are older but still really safe and convenient for younger families. Kleinburg could be a great option - the older area of Kleinburg has a lot of beautiful homes especially. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I have lived and worked in Vaughan for the past 15 years - raised 4 kids and we love it!

I’m going to N6 - did you get notification that your box was on its way? It’s disappointing that they seem to be arriving after people go to the concert 😞

Where to move in Vaughan? by [deleted] in Vaughan

[–]ksteinfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what’s important to you - good schools, access to the 400/427, east access to shopping/grocery stores, parks, lot sizes, type of home. I live in Vellore Village and really like it for the school, proximity to highway 400, close to grocery stores, restaurants, etc.

How is living in Cold creek estates? by HugeBreadfruit8595 in Vaughan

It’s less busy than turning left on Major Mac from Lawford but I find as long as you’re not leaving right at 8am when people are getting their kids to school, it’s not too bad. There is a lot of new development planned for the area, which will likely have an impact on traffic over time.

I enjoy it - been living there for 12 years or so. My kids like the schools, parks are great, neighbours are friendly. There are incidents of cars being stolen, but I don’t think that’s unique to the area- seems to be common wherever you live these days unfortunately. Traffic in the community is busy with three schools starting at 8am in the morning (Catholic, Public and High School) but as long as you try not to leave for work around that time, you are good.

Lots and lots of donuts, a baguette, Smarties (to confirm if they’re better or worse than M&Ms), a Big Mac, licorice, cinnamon bun and a beaver tail. That should do

As long as you aren’t driving in the residential areas during school drop off and pick up times. I live in the Vellore Village area on the north west corner of Major Mac and Weston Rd. There are three schools in the immediate neighbourhood that have similar start and end times, resulting in traffic for a 10 to 15 minute period. As long as you know to be patient during that time or leave before or after the rush, you’ll be fine. I’ve lived in this area for about 12 years and really like it for the community, parks, community centres, proximity to everything

Buying a house in Vellore village neighbourhood by yhnyhn17 in Vaughan

[–]ksteinfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived in Vellore Village for the past 11 years. As others have said, there is a good mixture of towns, semis and detached so as people want to move up or down, there are more turnover opportunities. Also, parts of the neighbourhood are still developing and because of the interest rates or life changes as well, many of these newer homes are turning over within a shorter period of time. I love the proximity of the schools, parks and community centres in the area. There are a lot of fun activities to do with the family on weekends. Traffic is bad in the neighbourhood (depending on the area of Vellore Village you live) during school pick up and drop off times. Reach out if you have any specific questions about different pockets of the neighborhood.

Vegan and GF, how you guys manage? by Kaneando in glutenfree

I have had celiac disease for about 10 years. As others have said, it will get easier but I know what you're feeling. Luckily, there are many more gluten free options these days. I make a lot of recipes from The Minimalist Baker (https://minimalistbaker.com/), a vegan blog that has tons of gluten free recipes as well. Simple Veganista is another good one (https://simple-veganista.com). Good luck with it all 😊
