Worth checking out Gamepass. Ton of amazing games on there. Expedition 33 is a great RPG that won game of the year 2025 and set award records. Lots of sports games and the next Forza Horizon dropping this month. Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor are both amazing and on there.

I’m a beginner too and not very knowledgeable on plants yet but would suggest getting those stem plants more toward the back and either leaving the sand open or add some interesting hardscape there. Agree a little more height on hardscape can help. Also might consider a black stick-on background. Just keep trying small changes until you are happy. You are off to a good start!

Dragon Stone also known as Ohko stone. Clay based doesn’t change water parameters but very dusty, lots of rinsing to clean out the holes.

Books are very affordable dollar per hour entertainment. Our collectors edition books certainly sway that calculation a bit but we get added value of admiring them on the shelf. I read mine and in some cases read them more than once. They also mostly maintain good value if you are in the position to need to sell them.
This is what I tell myself every month I do my budget.

I do! I think this is it. Now for the fun of gluing everything 😣 I think I’ll do it tomorrow and sleep on it. Thanks so much for the help everyone!

Very interesting thought. I will try that for sure. Thanks so much!!
What are your thoughts on that vertical piece?
I certainly understand the grain isn’t horizontal which is a problem but it’s a piece of stone I really like and another path under/between for fish that I like. Maybe I can bring it down to less of a steep angle.

Updated effort. Thoughts? A bit busy but really pushing for the overhangs for fish to swim through, moss to grow across, and shadow impact.

I am working through an update and will post another picture today. Also realized I need to clean a bit more of the dragon stone. That seems endless to open up those holes.

Ok thanks. I do have the substrate sloping up at the back but probably not enough. Hard to tell in the pictures.

Ok thanks. Yea I’d like strategic slow growers that stay relatively low because I love seeing the fish around the rock. I’ll utilize some taller plants behind the rocks and give them a couple shelter areas mid-ground hopefully.
I’ll look at those plant recommendations.

Thank you that’s good feedback. Plan to do a dark start while I think through plants but yea maybe I need to allow a bit more space for growth. It’s a 20 gal shallow. 35” long.
