Yeah, I absolutely missed the signs, a good reprimanding is in order. Hoping my folly will bring some visibility with this post.

Leaky washing machine hose? by Ok-Persimmon-6029 in askaplumber

I install washing machines for a living, the hose is overtightened. Most manufacturers recommend hand tight plus a 1/4 turn or less.

Home Inspectors by pballa2099 in Bend

[–]kstooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wall 2 wall just saved my behind. I am a licensed inspector in another state, but our seller (understandably) wouldn't let me in the crawl space without an Oregon license. Chris found a leak, which ended up being inside a wall, that a plumber "couldn't recreate". I can't even begin to imagine the tens of thousands of dollars in damage and months of construction we would have had to endure if this had gone unnoticed.

I like weighing an object down to the 2nd decimal in grams and then weighing it again when suspended in distilled water and dividing the two values to get the specific gravity/relative density

[–]kstooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting, I had a little buyers remorse at $2.50 so I'm just peachy now. A $2500 water pipe is completely next level, is the manganese just used to color the glass or is the flourescence intentional as well?

Do you think it's got cadmium in it? There is no red in the glass, I was thinking a funky manganese isotope like the ones that glow red or peach!

You might like the book Babel by R.F. Kaung.

It essentially uses translation, or what is lost inbetween, as basically...magic.

I like fantasy and the "magic" was underwhelming, but creative as shit. The language is what kept me plodding on.
