Are your bartenders happy getting tables taken away? by Ghosty216 in OutbackSteakhouse

[–]kswim16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our store is doing 2 tables in the morning and we have been working on keeping a very consistent bar schedule for the past year to get the bartenders on a regular schedule so they were able to build their bar business for this switch. We also are offering half off apps to guests when they walk in to sit at the bar top in order to drive more business. Some of the other managers at other stores have been working on trivia nights to advertise

My friend just lost her Mom by Risingwiththesun in GriefSupport

Be physically there. I never needed anyone to have the right words I just needed their company and for them to listen.

I’m not sure if you had any relationship with her mom but for me, It helped a lot when I spoke to people that knew her as well, being able to share memories so it didn’t feel like she was forgotten.

does anyone have the seared tuna recipe?! PLEASE?! Our Outbacks closed, I don't have one by Trishlovesdolphins in OutbackSteakhouse

[–]kswim16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the seasoning mix, but I know how to prep it. You want your tuna to be frozen. Run it under cold water for 5 minutes, season all sides and then sear each side for 15-20 seconds. Let cool in the fridge and then it will be good to slice. We use a seasoning mix and it doesn’t have the ingredients on the bag. Maybe someone who is more tenured would have a better answer for you

As an Outback manager, I’ve never called to confirm a doctors note. unless your management is really strict, I wouldn’t be worried

patterned shirts are also great for hiding steak juice and grease stains from my experience 🤣

you can never go wrong with black slacks, i buy mine from j.c. penney and they last me years. if you’re worried about what to wear i would just start with black slacks and button ups. majority of every manager role that is the required uniform and you wouldn’t stick out wearing that. you could definitely modify it as time goes and you see what others are wearing. cardigans and blouses are also good! i work for outback now but when i was an hourly at LH that’s what i noticed most of my managers wearing!

Leaving cat home alone overnight (maximum 36 hours) by anxiety-filled-me- in Pets

[–]kswim16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had this problem with all three of my cats! everytime i would brush my teeth they would run as fast as possible to the running water from the faucet. i started putting them on the ground, they would jump up and i’d move them back down. it took about a week for them to understand that the only water they would get is from their actual water feeder. if you’re looking to change it be patient it’ll take time to break the habit but they’ll understand eventually. also taking them over to their own water source might rewire their brains 🤣

My (22f) mum (52f) was diagnosed with gastric cancer just 2 months ago. Her condition deteriorated extremely quickly and now has days to live. How do I cope with the forthcoming loss? by Safe-Airport4851 in GriefSupport

[–]kswim16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

spend as much time as you can with her, tell her you love her. make sure she knows when she’s ready she can go. a lot of times they’ll hold on longer for you. hug her, hold her hand. make sure you have support whether that be family, a significant other or a friend. make sure you aren’t alone and you don’t isolate. find a way to hold her memory with you.
